How come the brilliant Brazil team (think WC 1970, WC 1958) never won the Copa America?
It was like this at the libertadores too until the 90s. Our clubs spent several years refusing participations in sa competitions. Thats why pele only won twice for example
Interesting but that part in bold is shocking.

Seriously? Even the refs like violent play.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Apparently when Kun complained about the harsh play to the ref, the ref responded "This is America, lads"
Re: Copa América 2015
I hope it doesn't happen. Too many Copa Americas will undervalue the tournament even more than it already has been.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Copa America 2016 might not happen as everyone involved in organizing it is being investigated by the US govt.

Surely the schedules wouldn't overlap?RealGunner wrote:Why would anyone watch that over the superior Euros anyways
Re: Copa América 2015
I am happier this way though. I would have had to wake up very early to watch Argentina vs. Brazil and that would have made my whole week difficult. This way I hope to watch Argentina in the final at a more comfortable time. Not saying that Paraguay can't knock us out in the semi final but whether they do or don't I am skipping that match, reading the result next morning and watching the highlights. This Copa isn't really worth losing sleep over.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Brazil is out. Sponsors shudder.
Shame, I wasn't exactly rooting for Brazil, but I would've liked to see Argentina kick them out.

What has gone wrong with him? Just about a year back he was the world's best central defender, pretty much by unanimous opinion. If he doesn't do that then Brazil probably go through.RealGunner wrote:Thiago Silva

I have no problems with Dunga getting fired but somebody answer one question.Based Bonera wrote:Is Dunga going to get fired? Or are they going to build a statue for him?
In Brazil a coach will be loved only if he plays with style, wins a lot and wins the world cup.
Who in Brazil do you think is worthy of taking on the job considering all these things?
Re: Copa América 2015
In this Copa America that is certainly very much possible.Perucho21 wrote:How pissed will people be if the final was Peru vs Paraguay?
I consider the 3rd place match a waste of time and hence will likely not watch it even if Argentina plays in it.
Anyway all the best to your team vs. Chile. Teach them that it takes more to win a competition than slyly getting opposition players sent off.
Re: Copa América 2015
Dunga making Neymar captain over him. It's the Bale Cronaldo-syndrome, you have to devalue yourself to make somebody else to seem better.messixaviesta wrote:What has gone wrong with him? I remember Robinho was called the new Pele almost at the same time as Messi was called the new Maradona. At that time we didn't even know who would become the better player.Don't call me James wrote:I remember when Robinho aspired to win the Balon D'Or. Good times
Re: Copa América 2015
So Paraguay have knocked out Brazil successively in two Copa Americas on penalties. Next time if the two meet in a penalty shoot out who would your money be on?

Because of BRA's elimination last night, Neymar will be banned for first two World Cup 2018 qualifiers in October.

Re: Copa América 2015
Official Copa America team of the QF:
The referee for the semi final match between Argentina and Paraguay has been changed. Initially, CONMEBOL had assigned an Ecuadorian referee for the semi final match between Argentina and Paraguay. However, that has since been changed. It is now a Brazilian referee. The same Brazilian referee who gave a red card to Edinson CAVANI in Uruguay's match against Chile.
The referee has refereed two matches at the Copa America, giving out 10 yellow cards, 2 red cards and 69 fouls. Messi Mascherano and Aguero are on yellows and in danger to miss final. Particularly Messi's yellow was so controversial that it seems that Conmebol has decided to carry Chile to Copa America no matter what. The same ref didn't even give penalty for this for Messi:

Why won't they clear all the bookings out? The biggest star of the tournament is possibly missing the final Where's the logic

Messi has 1 foul to 1 yellow, 1 goal.
Neymar has 5 fouls to 2 yellows + 1 red, 1 goal.
Paolo Guerrero has 17 fouls to 1 yellow, 3 goals.
This is how Copa America 2015 rolls.

Couldn't have said it any better. Wonder what he would have done is he were a serial dishwasher fanboy like me who support scrubs like Nerman, or others who support scrubs like Suarez, hazard or Ronaldo or a club fan like el gunner who support clubs like arsenal or maybe milan, man utd, Liverpool and the like. Suicide then? Just look how he's already making up excuses/blames just in case messi or Argentina doesn't make it to the final...
You need to see the inferiority complex he gets and the way he jumps on the criticism train when players like Neymar and Suarez gets little praise, even being a fanboy of the undisputed best player of his generation and one of the best players of all time. Cringe worthy tbh..
