I still haven't tried Superstar yet. I'm kind of too good for Professional but not good enough on Top Player to beat teams comfortably yet, and it is fun. I remember playing on Superstar level a few years back and I had a feeling the game cheated against you i.e. it wasn't just the AI playing smarter but the CPU players were all on steroids and got very lucky all the time too.

Yeah, although i might go back to Superstar soon though and default speed.

I have noticed though very vividly since my last post teams adjusting to me though, i was wrecking shit on the wings with Dembele and Sane so the computer now double marks both of them on each side.

I was still winning but the games got more competitive before i adjusted my tactics, basically to play on the counter and win the ball high up the pitch so they can't set up. I also decided to play more through the middle as the CMs now have loads of space due to the threat of the wings.

Really interesting dynamic, i'm really excited to see what changes as the season is nearly over for next season now i have been promoted.

I'm on Top Player still. If I start smashing everyone by three or more goals I might bump it up to Superstar but I'm still getting the odd game that I draw or just really struggle to score.

I'm pretty sure that some teams are starting to move the ball quicker around the back now in response to my pressing And teams are already catching on to my habit of playing the ball early into the feet of my two strikers and blocking the middle of the pitch.

It's really fun how teams mark players too. I had one team put four around Dybala at one point A lot of teams double mark N'Zonzi too because I build a lot through him.

Btw the variety in goals scored is by far my favourite thing about this game.

I went nuts during transfer window and spent 33m on Boufal from Southampton because i looked at his stats and immediately went full Wenger and thought i could convert him into a striker. Also signed Parades from Roma, Rugani and Wendell.

Funny thing is while Boufal didn't play badly he didn't score on his debut but i brought Gayle on and he scored twice in 10 mins.

Good start in the PL though, won 2-0 away to Palace.

The only game-breaking-ish issue I got with this game is CPU being able to go through the back of you to win the ball especially around their box. The infamous stumble animation is basically their most used tackle against me, even when I have pretty big strong players. I find it annoying that physicality is still not so pronounced on this game. In fact I'm starting to feel physicality or lack thereof is slowly forcing me to play tiki-taka. Having big players is useful for headers but I'm finding little utility anywhere else and can't seem to hold off defenders at all when in the final third

Don't get me wrong, playing as Barça is a dream, little one touch passing is glorious and all but trying as a more middling, English team...I'm really struggling with how the game feels built to be pass pass pass.

I agree, i have the same issue every year to be frank

Although i don't feel it's forcing me to play Tiki Taka.

You notice it more when playing BAL and the camera's zoomed in, but CPU players do have an almost inhuman ability to get their body across your attacker and disposses them. And they can nibble at your players from behind (with the controller vibrating the whole time) and get away with it.

But at least it's a lot better than last year when you could get two footed from behind and still not win a free-kick.

Just not as much, it's nowhere near as bad as it was i agree but i still find it to favour the CPU far too much.

Beat Barca 3-2 at the Nou Camp then gave Atleti their first defeat in 23 games with a Dybala hat-trick. Gap just two points now

Turns out crossing to Dybala works really well.

I think i have *bleep* up lol.

Gayle just can't stop scoring 6 in 4 and a hatrick in the last game, Boufal has played well but i didn't really need another attacking midfielder.

But I've just drawn two and lost one of my last three games, so I'm 7 points off Atleti with 8 games to go. Also lost the first leg of my CL r16 match against Porto

It's funny how i'm having more issues with the championship teams i have played in the cups than i am with Premier League teams.

I know why, it's because i have a lot of skilled midfielders and pace upfront. Which means on the counter i'm lethal and seeing as i press really high it means most attacks are counters lol.

Where as lower league teams tend to pack the box and don't try to play through my press and hit long balls in behind which makes it more difficult for my style of play.

I suspect they'll adapt soon though as i have only played seven games.

Signed Tatarusanu, Pastore, and Bedoya. Was really going for Giroud and Gourcuff but none of Rennes nor Arsenal were willing to let go. Tatarusanu was a trade for Subasic. Pastore makes attacking easier but he sucks at late game since his Stamina is poop. Bernardo Silva is growing like crazy right now.

This from the computer ended by 23 game unbeaten run, i was absolutely gutted lol.

Genuinely started to believe i'd go the whole season unbeaten.

The board has given me an extra £3m to spend after our season, putting my budget up to a whopping £20m

Keep getting quoted £20m+ prices on any half decent player as well. It's really frustrating.

I had to basically sell everyone i don't play, luckily there was more than half a dozen of them lol.

If memory serves i sold Clark, Hanley, Mitrovic, Perez, Dummett, Murphy and Gouffran to fund moves for Rugani, Wendell, Parades and Boufal.

One advantage to having a ridiculous large squad full of crap i suppose lol.

Yeah I managed to raise more funds by selling on some players I didn't need. Managed to get John Stones, Saul (for £14m ) and another regen player. Made a cheeky bid for Verratti and PSG wanted £78m

Rico has gone up 5 ovr points and is the third highest rated keeper in the game now behind Courtois and Neuer. Get him if you need a keeper.

I just bought Ziyech as well lol, i mainly bought him to rotate with Kovacic though.

I think Lord Awesome mentioned this but Bernado Silva is amazing, i'm playing him as a CM(despite the game saying he's 65 rated there lol) behind a false 9 and he's 2nd in the goalscoring charts behind Aguero lol.

They gave me an extra like 15M in wages so that's good I suppose lol.
