I think he's lost his place to Leno for the next match. Although looking at that bench, alternating them must 've been the original plan anyway.

The German U21 lack the goal threat to win the Euro especially if a regular goalscorer at current level like Gnabry is kept on the bench.

To many tippy-tappy attacking midfielders out there right now.

Yeah, considering the fact that Bernd Leno got the Nr.1 shirt and MAtS the Nr.12, it was probably just Horst Hrubesch throwing dice as to whom he wanted to start today.

I agree with the 2nd part, they seem intent on carrying the ball into the goal, on the other hand they do have an accomplished finisher in Volland and a pretty straightforward striker in Hofmann, so far I'm mostly disappointed by Leitner, whom I like, Younes, whom I've never liked all that much, and MAtS, who couldn't do much against the goal, yet I still fiel like Leno might have done better.

All in all our attack is too slow and too indirect. Serbia playing like we should.

Still better than Jogis team though.

Kimmich on for Leitner, too bad, I really thought Leitner would have made more progress by now. Kimmich, by the way, completely flew below my radar. Am super surprised Bayern apparently signed him. I can't notice them all, I guess.

Hm. MAtS looked a bit insecure during this corner, too. But at least both posts were covered.

I really hope this leads to a lesson learned. I hate it when players I support dive, and Günter has successfully made my shitlist.

A draw would be a great result for us. Would guarantee advancement with a win against Serbia.

He scored a goal today, but generally Can's end product and decision making is meager.
He always looks like on the verge of being a midfield beast, strutting around like Ballack and Kroos' lovechild, but the stuff he does isn't really that great in the end.

Hope he improves on that front, so talented.

Does BVB still have a Bittencourt buy back clause?

Susi Zorc apparently blocked the Ginter move to Gladbach. Doesn't seem to be such a loss after today....

What about Leitner, is he still on loan or have Stuttgart signed him permanently?

Jojic looked good too, he didn't get any chances anymore this season with Klopp.

Ginter... Dortmund have a lot of potential which Klopp didn't manage to exploit anymore.

He got better as the match progressed. Towards the end, his distribution set up attack, twice. It's all about regular game time for him.
But this GER side looks a bit Meh. I don't know if their players on the bench are an upgrade. Only Bittencourt looked any good. At this moment, I would 've preferred MAtS enjoying his holiday so as to be able to start our pre-season on time.

Sweden came from behind to beat Italy 2-1 despite being down to 10 men for most of the game. Italy got complacent after they went ahead.

England without John Stones (concussion) and Saido Berainho (knee). Two big blows there. Team:

Butland; Jenkinson, Moore, Gibson, Garbutt; Chalobah, Carroll, Ward-Prowse; Lingard, Kane, Redmond

For some reason Calum Chambers and Will Hughes aren't starting.
