Shani

That Frog thing

MOAR Gwent

Hearts of Stone DLC isn't going to take place only in Oxenfurt - the map is going to expand and new locations are going to be added + new stories, new characters, new monsters, new weapons, new gwent cards, etc.

Btw gonna make the new thread soon as we are nearly at 50 and have idea for description hmm

Mole we were talking about how much it cost to make the game.

£50m apparently lol

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/this-is-how-much-the-witcher-3-cost-to-make/1100-6430409/

Really impressive considering other AAA titles are usually made by over 100m.

Shame no Witcher 4 in the next 5 or so years. Definitely not with GOATralt anyways.

Looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 though.

It is the 17th most expensive game to be made in all time. It's higher if you ignore inflation which is always the case in football.

MW2 Laughing

50m to make. 200m to advertise Laughing wtf Laughing

Also how did Kojima manage to make phantom Pain with that budget. Insane considering the gameplay and how indepth the open world is.

Never heard of Too Human in my life and it cost 100m+ to make?

Too Human is one of the biggest flops in gaming. Norse mythology RPG but I think the gameplay was bad so it got mediocre reviews and poor sales.

I wish they did make another Witcher game in 3 years..they made a lot of profit from TW3 IIRC, swear I read it sold 6 million copies a couple of months back over all platforms

but I guess without 5 years for the devs to pour all their hard work in it wouldn't be as GOAT a game

on one hand I don't want to play a series as anyone else (certainly not Ciri) but on the other Geralt's story feels complete

Yea same. I am not sure there can be another witcher game without Geralt and still be as good.

It made a huge profit. Which is why their budget for cyberpunk 2077 is even bigger. Think it's best to retire witcher series on a high.

Definitely buying cyberpunk.

Yea. I am guessing most of the budget went on getting the license for music lol.

They said including marketing etc it cost 80 something million to make and they upped the initial budget many times because it was far bigger than they initially planned Laughing

Also they also said that has sold 6m in first 6 weeks, which outside of Bethesda RPGs is a very good number considering even Mass Effect didn't do that i don't think.

Anyway this is what was said at some financial conference for the company.

Kicinski revealed: "In March, we are going to present our strategy for the coming years.

"As a result of the Witcher 3, we have a huge capital in trust and confidence, we have cash in our accounts, that is going up and we have loads of ideas.

"We have now narrowed those down and selected the best ideas of all the ones we had, so the future of CD Projekt RED will depend on this new strategy.

"We have the financial capital and we also have the human capital, we have collected enormous human experience, expertise, knowledge and talent so it is going to be a very hot period."

tbf they're probably paying their polish staff 1/3 the rate major studios based in Japan/US/Canada, etc do for the same positions so they benefit from that

could be wrong but I believe I read an article that went into detail on that topic a few months before release

Yeah they get paid a lot less, can't remember how much but it is significant.

Should also be mentioned that this is their first real commercial success, Witcher 2 was a great game but it was a great game in the sense that Alan Wake was lol.

Suppose Witcher 1 in the same sense as well although that's very outdated gameplay wise now, they are a very young studio and this is really their first AAA game and you can tell with how they treat their customers with respect and nothing like Activision and the likes lol.

Obviously they have established themselves now though and their next game will be rightly be very anticipated.

That's not wrong btw, they did initially Laughing but as i said they were constantly adding more things all the time and it just got way above their initial ambitions and quite frankly dreams.

Still very impressive though considering that the world itself is up there with anything, it's a masterpiece in world building that i haven't seen before outside of Rockstar or Bethesda games.

If someone told me it cost 150m to make i'd believe them.

Agreed.

Liked how they actually listened to feedback on their forum

unlike EA forums where you tell them there is a bug in fifa11 career mode and it gets fixed in fifa15

People were not happy with how Triss was handled compared to Yennefer so they are fixing it lol.

Could've sworn that I saw Witcher 3 on sale with 30-something % off on PS store yesterday. I thought it was unusually cheap for such a relatively new game, but I didn't think any more of it. It says 27% today, though hmm Not that I had any intention of purchasing a second copy of the game.
