GL has a strange lack of hype for this game compared to the likes of Battlefront it seems...

Personally looking forward to playing it, I haven't played a Fallout game yet so it will be a new experience for me.

I think Firenze is the only one who regular posts in gaming threads who has pre ordered it iirc.

Don't have my PS4 with me Sad

Will have to play it in December. Hype elsewhere tho...will only be surpassed by Elder Scrolls 6.

Cause I have MGS5 not completed yet & Battlefront around the corner as i've said numerous times. This game is a christmas purchase for me.

lol, yeah.. Battlefront seems to be the most hyped up game on this forum. I've never played any of the Fallout games, but it's easily been the most hyped up game of this year, in general, as far as I can tell. I'll most likely get it at some point in time.

Depends on what people you speak to i suppose.

Battlefront is hyped as hell for a few reasons.... there hasn't been one for over a decade and Star Wars games in general have hardly existed in that time either.

Not to mention people are just hyped because of the new film to start with, to me the hype is so huge because of what it represents more than anything. The idea that Star Wars will exist again outside of books and cartoons lol, it's basically the equivalent of releasing a game alongside Episode 1 came out.

It's just a massive pop culture event, it goes further than just a game. I'm not hyped for that reason but that's why it's such a big deal.

Bo3 is pretty much the exact same thing that you played in the beta, with the addition of tons of customization options and a few, really typical, Treyarc- designed maps - not my cup of tea, but they're not outright awful either. I've heard good things about this year's campaign and Zombie mode. Looking forward to trying those two out. I'm enjoying playing Search and Destroy right now, but the time to kill is so frustratingly fast sometimes... and not consistent at all. Some camper guy litterally aimed his weapon at me in a large, swirly motion, a few bullets grazed me and I was dead. At the same time, I was firing quite accurately for once, but somehow the recoil made it so that most of my bullets strayed above his head. Almost threw my controller into the TV :facepalm:

I'm hyped for FO4, I just don't post here that much these days due to Uni, but after I hand in my last bit of coursework at the end of this month I'll be spamming this section with Fallout stuff, count on it Razz

"But that's just coursework Jon what about your exams, won't you have to study for them?"

Lol pls, my exams ain't till the middle of January and nobody studies for exams until two weeks before them anyway, if that, I know people who leave it till the last couple of days. I'll be living off of Halo 5 and Fallout 4 until past the new year, maybe Tomb Raider as well if I can get a 2 for 1 deal for it with Fallout 4.

yeah you said F3/Skyrim didn't do it for you so I don't see this doing it either

same formula, seems like the only thing they've added is this minecraft base building feature

The dialogue wheel is a pretty annoying setback. Feels way more limited this way.

The game takes about 5-10 minutes to play around with your intro story before dropping you into the Wasteland and from there you have direction for where you should start but it's all in your hands. You could start building a settlement there if you had the materials, which you obviously wouldn't.

Plus, Diamond City, this game's version of Megaton, is a town built inside of Fenway Park. omfg.

The combat system is better and less choppy which was to be expected.

Still haven't played too much but as a Fallout fan, I'm enjoying it.

TBH. From the trend of Morrowind through Fallout and Skyrim I actualy don't have high expectations.

Aye it is, but the verdict isn't what concerned me.

It's this....

The first five to 10 hours after you leave Vault 111 is mostly spent trying not to die at the hands of a random mole rat and on farming side quests to gain enough strength to push through main ones. But the side quests often involving boring nonplayable characters (NPCs) you’ll never interact with after the quest is done. There's never really a reason to care about what's going on, even as some quests have you defending struggling settlements.

The main characters don't really help matters, either. Some of your companions are mildly interesting, but for the most part there's not much to talk about. Conversations are usually bland and boring, aside from the sarcastic lines your character can spit out assuming you're so inclined. Nobody grabbed my attention right away, and nobody will stick in my memory
