Re: Europa League 2015-16
Liverpool Echo wrote:Liverpool have been drawn in Group B of this season’s Europa League, alongside Bordeaux, Rubin Kazan and FC Sion. They will kick off their campaign away to Bordeaux on Thursday 17 September.
Full squad: Mignolet, Bogdan, Clyne, Gomez, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Sakho, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Milner, Can, Allen, Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, Origi, Ings, Sturridge, Benteke
Don't we need to register 25 players??? Or, is that the maximum we can register!!!
I expected few more youngsters; Teixeira, Rossitier, Ibe, Illori to be in the squad. These players can still play (except Illori off-course) from the B-List but I expected them instead of some of the senior players.

I guess Rodgers is taking the EL pretty seriously and wants his best squad for this tournament.Natalie Portman wrote:Texieira not even included in EL squad

Klopp taking a strong side.
Confirms he's taking the Europa seriously. Bout time we've had a manager to do so. Haven't had one since 2010 fml.

Re: Europa League 2015-16
I think Klopp is encouraged by the fact that, after the Kazan and Palace games, there's a two-week break. I would like to see Ibe, Randall and Brannagan get some minutes.
May be we will start like this:

Mignolet
Clyne-Skrtel-Sakho-Moreno
Lucas-Emre

Re: Europa League 2015-16
“If you play Champions League, you are playing Wednesday and Saturday,” Klopp said.
“Nobody says ‘okay, come on, go to Real Madrid with 17 year old guys!’ – that is not fair for them. They get experience but not the experience they should get.
“Where is the difference (with Thursday and Sunday)? Is the only benefit that you like the other tournament more?
“If you think we have too many matches then stop playing at Christmas,” he said.
“This tournament, for no team in the world, is a problem. Only because there is no break is there a problem maybe.
“We will see this. What would you have said if we had gone to Kazan with a youth team?
“For the moment, everything is okay. There are many games but the Europa League is not a problem for English teams. No. No winter break might be the problem.
“It is not a problem for me because I knew about it before (I came to Liverpool). But the Europa League is a great tournament and I like it.”

What FA can do is to remove COC, push back FA cup and have a 2-3 weeks of rest during Jan.

Re: Europa League 2015-16
I guess having one Matchday off, meaning 2 weeks off at the start of the January- will help players massively. I guess Bundesliga has the most balanced schedule for players.

Some of the teams that can drop into this seasons Europa League: Shakhtar, ManU/PSV/Wolfsburg/CSKA, Galatasaray, Sevilla/BMG, Roma/Leverkusen, Arsenal, Chelsea.
Add them with Napoli, Fiorentina, Dortmund and Liverpool; it's going to be a really thrilling R32

Not sure about you lads but I think this Europa knockout stage is going to be awesome. Lots of big teams involved.

Re: Europa League 2015-16
Should be an interesting match-up. Augsburg are not push-overs and if they park the bus we all know how difficult it is on our team.
Still it's a nice test to go further in the competition.

We really should be going to the next round. We've embarrassed the last few years in EL getting knocked out at the first round. Has to stop.

Since they will be playing at home in the first-leg, they will be adventures and we are good against teams who show a bit initiative (bar Palace ). I think we will win 3-2 or something like that on aggregate.

Oh my we get United; what a draw. Liverpool fans were already really invested in the Europa, and now it just adds some extra juice. Get in!
