Martin Scorsese to direct Jamie Foxx in a Mike Tyson biopic. This is a great film already. Can't wait.

Freeze I think Southpaw is going to flop once I saw Fuqua is the director.
Or not necessarily flop, but not going to be that good as it should be. hmm

Because of a name? Last time he had a great writer writing, he did Training Day though. This time he's got prime Gyllenhaal and the writer of Son's of Anarchy. Think it'll be a really good character driven boxing film.

Me too. Thumbs up

Spoiler:
My only critic after one viewing on it is that the transition between Cooper leaving home and going into space was done poorly. They could've slowed that up a bit more and make it more emotional. Some of it seemed forced. And all that time changing in the first hour and a half in coherence with the story was done a tiny bit poorly as well, but then the last hour with Mann (Damon) and the 2001-esque travel into that black hole and the ending was just AMAZING!
The tearjerk moments as well, when Cooper got the messages from his kids after the first failed attempt at Millers, and the last one when he was reunited with Murph. Sad

He's a decent director, but has yet to impress for me. Hope it bangs though.
And yeah Training Day was all David Ayer, you could see his touch on that film.

He's a good director. Just hard sometimes to improve a bad script, if you're not a great writer yourself. His films always look great, so that's a positive.

Jake is the big selling point though. He has not picked a bad role since he changed his agent and manager, so I'll believe in him. I'm generally positive about most things until I see them.

Yeah, still was filmes like 10 years ago, not gonna watch it. It's no doubt shit when the director is embarrassed by it.

There is nothing worth watching in the cinema at the moment. Last night I had a free night in a very very long time and completely disappointed me to see the shit that was on offer to watch.

Went to a titty bar instead. Laughing

I enjoy the Furious films but it's obviously gonna get a beefed up rating from people because it's Paul Walkers last movie ( Sad )

Obviously not everyone in the world is going to like it. I happen to think it's one of the greatest movies ever, but I can respect other people's opinion. At the same time, I would suggest that you give it a year or two and watch it again. If you can get over the drawn-out intro and immerse yourself in the setting, it becomes a much better experience.
