Champions League - Chelsea vs Paris Saint-Germain

The second leg of the 2014/15 Champions League knockout round sees capital clubs Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain face off in London to determine which among them will advance to the quarterfinals....













The first leg in Paris 3 weeks ago ended a 1-1 stalemate, with goals from Branislav Ivanovic and Edinson Cavani making up the numbers, sending the sides into Wednesday's match with it all to play for, though the hosts do, it goes without noting, have the slight advantage of their own goal in that match being an away one.

This same fixture last season, contested then in the quarterfinal stage, ended in a dramatic triumph for the Blues. Going into the game well and truly up against it following their 3-1 thumping in Paris the week before, José Mourinho's men drew first blood through Andre Schurrle in the 32nd minute. The guests had several chances of their own on the night, though, any one of which, converted, could have effectively put Chelsea out, but all went begging, before in the dying minutes of the match, Demba Ba haphazardly fumbled the ball into the roof of Salvatore Sirigu's net, sending the crowd wild and José Mourinho down the touchline to celebrate the dramatic win with his players.
