Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Does Harry Kane feed on the ability of other Spurs strikers to gain his strength (kind of similar to blood bags in Mad Max: Fury Road)?
Let's analyze:
Soldado: One of the most prolific strikers in La Liga when he came to Tottenham. He was consistently probably the best goalscorer in La Liga after Messi and Ronaldo during his time at Valencia. He was a poacher, but a clinical one and he scored his fair share of insane volleys as well. Comes to Spurs and he can't finish a 1v1, hell he can hardly hit an open net. The only thing he could do was score penalties. The guy started to play like a second striker because he lacked any confidence near goal. Eventually displaced by Harry Kane as the beautiful blonde mare himself broke through
Janssen. Had a great year in the Eridivisie, I think scoring 25+ goals. Broke into the Netherlands NT and was scoring there as well. Arsenal, Tottenham both apparently interested. Tottenham gets him and all of a sudden the guy can't hit the broad side of a barn. After a single year he's loaned out to Fenerbache and Tottenham buy a new back up striker.
Llorente. Surely this can't go wrong? Llorente has had an illustrious career in La Liga with Bilbao, scoring many goals. He's even been impressive in the twilight of his career, with stints at everybody's favorite runner ups Juventus, and an impressive 15 EPL goals with struggling relegation candidates Swansea. Llorente oozes class, has great link up play, and has always been at least a decent finisher. Surely he could score some headed goals or something at 6'5? Nope. Llorente has had decent link up play, but his finishing has deserted him. One on one through on goal he dribbles the ball too far. Sitter against Leicester to tie the game up for Spurs, an open net from 6 yards out and he skies it over the bar. Looks just as bad as Soldado and Janssen in front of the net.
Let's not forget that before his rise, Harry Kane was a slightly overweight, not really impressive striker who went on loan to Leicester and Norwich and didn't make much of an impression. He didn't really look confident, he once tried to spit on the ground and ended up spitting on his jersey instead, and at best he was "an English player who put his all out there on the field". The kind of transformation he's had has been radical.
I think there is something going on here, but I'm just not quite sure what it is. I think he's siphoning blood from his back up strikers before matches. There is no way anyone can go from this:

I wasn't old enough to watch Shearer much.
Rooney...I saw him more of an attacking midfielder than an out and out CF. Though I agree Rooney is probably more talented, I think Kane is a more complete centre forward.

Really love watching Kane play. For me he is the best striker in the world right now after Lewandowski. A modern classic number 9.

the Alan Shearer of his generation, just unfortunately won't be leading a small club to a Premier League title

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
He's started looking great again the last couple matches, but it's a weird time to be saying this as he's had pretty much an entire year and a half now where he's really not looked that great. Still decent, but far from what he usually has been.
However, he truly is a very complete forward.
Hoping that new signings reinvigorate this Tottenham team. We might be seeing a Thierry like season for Kane where he's both scoring at a good rate and getting a ridiculous number of assists for Bale and Son (IF this team plays up to their potential, and Mou doesn't fuck it away)

the injuries have bogged him down in that year and a half, he'll have to stay fit if he wants to get back to his best

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Definitely. Honestly, I think they've taken a toll on him. He's not quite as athletic as he used to be.
I think part of it, though, is that he just doesn't give 100% like he used to. He conserves his energy and body a bit more nowadays. Which is fine, but it has meant that when he's not scoring or assisting, he's not as effective or present in the game as he was a couple years ago

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
The sheer amount of minutes he plays probably accounts for that
Not having a playmaker like Eriksen behind him has hurt him a lot

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Another match, another thread bump. The guy has everything. Athletic, can score with left, right, headers. He can play back behind the goal role, he can play second striker, on the side, false CF, attack focal point, you name it. He has passing and vision better than some midfielders ffs.
The complete forward and then some. Screw Lewandowski, Madrid need to sign this guy.

He shits on Lewandowski in every way as a striker.
Oh and the lob to Son was FĆ bregas-esque.

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
He is fantastic and there is no doubt about it but the only way he will actually get recognition is if he does it in CL constantly like the other GOATs in Lewa, Suarez, Benzema etc
which Spurs rarely get lol

Kane is world class but calma amigo he has some way to go before he gets to Lewandowski let alone on what he has accomplished so far.

What some way to go? He's been carrying a bang on average team for years. Following up to what RG said it is about time he leaves to a club that challenges for some titles.
Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
He needs to go to Real Madrid. He is made for them. But i doubt they will spend 90m+ on him.

90? I guess you put the plus sign
I can't see him going for less than 140
