Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Putting Rashford and Januzaj with Harry Kane is like putting J and J security with Glenn Jacobs Kane tbh.

Nah he's right.
Lukaku doesn't have anywhere near the link up or intelligence off the ball, Aguero has been Pep'd and Costa does his usual look amazing for half a season and disappear for the other half.
Who else is there lol.

Yeah as of this season Kane is the best CF in the league.
This season was Aguero's first season of his downfall. Fraudiola got his hands on the poor guy.

Both Lukaku and Costa are better.
When was even the last time Kane scored against a big team? I'm a big fan but Kane still has to prove himself against better teams where he usually disappears even though he plays for the 2nd best team in the league.

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Lukaku still has the same problems he always had, his movement off the ball is trash and so is his link up play.
It's why he's still at Everton, Spurs would be a significantly worse team with him instead of Kane that should be obvious. When you get to a certain level, how you help the team off the ball is more important than on it and Lukaku is nowhere near Kane here.
Costa at his best might be better but he goes too many long periods of meh to go with the great for me to care.

He scored against Arsenal this season.
He also usually scores against Chelsea and Liverpool often.
Last season he scored 6 in 8 games against Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea/City
In 2014-15 he scored 5 in 5 against Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea/City

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
As for Kane's record in big games, i'd rather look at Spurs record in big games tbh as he does a great job of opening space for the likes of Alli to excell in those games.
It's a team game after all and Spurs don't exactly struggle in these games, it's not like any other striker has a stellar big game record anyway.
People only want to shit on him because he's English and wasn't suppose to be the next best thing, i can guarantee if he was a foreign player he'd be hyped a lot more on here.

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
The dude has proven himself for 3 seasons now. He's an elite CF in world footballer. He's individually proven himself in big games even though his club are perennial big game chokers.
I used to not buy the hype in his first season but I've been long persuaded. 3 seasons of this caliber performance is not some fluke.

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
You must not have watched a lot of Everton games if you think Lukaku hasn't changed at all. This season his link-up play and hold up has improved tremenduously. Ask any Everton. The reason why he hasn't moved yet is that the teams that can pay his high fee don't need a striker. I think that will change this summer.
I don't think Spurs would be significantly worse without Kane when they have been doing fine with Son leading the line.
I think Kane can become better than both under Pochettino but I also have to wonder what Lukaku would look like in a better team than Everton, then I can say for sure which one is better. Diego Costa imo is not debatable at all, he's just better.

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Son performing under short space of time means absolutely nothing, short term replacements perform when a player is out all the time.
But when those players actually get sold and they are asked to actually do that job full time they fail miserably, absolutely delusional if you think Son could do the job over a full season.
As McAgger says he's scored 20+ 3 seasons in a row and makes the midfielders around him better, unreal the amount of disrespect he gets.

Is it really disrespectful to say he isn't the best striker in the league when Lukaku and Costa have been just as good?
As I said I'm a fan and he is a complete striker, he just isn't better than Lukaku and Costa yet.

Yes because people on this forum have been trying to deflect praise for him for 3 years now. They are not better btw, Lukaku for the reasons i explained and Costa because he has 4 goals in 4 months. You said yourself that he has a poor big game record and McAgger proved that wrong and so on.
If Lukaku was on Spurs doing the same thing i guarantee people would be hyping him for a move to Madrid or Bayern.
It's borderline racism.

Seriously, you're entitled to you own opinions mole but by your own admission you haven't watched a PL game in YEARS ffs. You probably have no idea who the phenom Marcus Rashford is for example.

Despite all that i know i'm right tbh.
After watching football for 20+ years non stop you develop a telepathic understanding of everything which means you don't need to watch imo.

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
Did people bring up Kane's record in big games? Lmao
He's well known for stepping up in big games and his record against London clubs is something like 18 goals in 21 games or something
I don't understand Urban here. If Kane isn't the best striker in the EPL right now, what exactly does he have to do to be? He's the first player since Thierry Henry to hit 20 PL goals in three straight seasons, if Costa or Lukaku were better, they would have done this
He's done this in a season where he's missed probably at least 33% of the season so far due to injury. Lukaku is having the season of his life and he's scoring a goal per 117 minutes. Kane is doing it at a clip of a goal per 100 minutes and it's not like the entire team is built around Kane getting the goals like Everton is.
His link up play isn't to be laughed at and is a big reason why Eriksen and Dele are able to get as many goals as they do. His work rate has always been top notch, and he's a multi-faceted striker. He can hit it from outside the box, he can score with either foot (Lukaku, lmao, at least it's gotten better for him), he can hold off any CB, he makes smart runs off the ball, he can head the ball, he's not a donkey on the ball and he can pass.
Kane isn't just the best EPL striker, he's been the best the last two years and one could argue the last three if they wanted. Nobody else can match his output and ability except for Yaya Sanogo, and that's a different argument altogether, because even when Sanogo has been thriving it's not like Arsenal have been.
Outta here with this poverty opinion
