I agree if you are going to play him LW, Lavezzi is a better winger. But that wasn't the problem today. They were fine until Tata thought it would be a good idea to take Pastore and Aguero off for no apparent reason.

People in here laughing at Paraguay. Told you all they were much better than what they were showing. They aren't Bolivia or Venezuela here.
Don't sleep. They are better than Uruguay.

Re: Copa America 2015
Please, Paraguay has been playing like shit since the last Copa America. They showed no improvement even with Diaz. Argentina got complacent and let the game out of their hands, even though they weren't playing as great you said they were.Betty La Fea wrote:People in here laughing at Paraguay. Re: Copa America 2015
I have said this for years. Messi without the Barca team around him is a very average, but world class, player. He's no Maradona, who could make both Napoli and Argentina excel.

Still can't get over the fact that he subbed Tevez on to play as a CM when Argentina were struggling defensively

Re: Copa America 2015
At one point did Chile have 6 Serie A players on the pitch before Matias Fernandez got a red? Vidal, Vargas, Medel, Pizzaro, Isla, Fernandez. Pinilla was the only Serie A player not on the pitch. Or am I mistaken?

Re: Copa America 2015
I decided to do some research and this is interesting:
Serie A is the most represented league in Copa America 2015 from top 5 European leagues.
By a long shot.

Was it complacency, or did Paraguay finally play to their potential?
You have to agree, even with their foot on the gas, Argentina isn't "2-0" better than this paraguay side. This was a match between the two best sides in the group, and it ended as expected.

Re: Copa America 2015
It was complacency. What potential exactly? They were one of the worst sides in SA qualifiers. They have showed no signs of life these past few years, until tonight.
Argentina didn't play well in the first half, but that has to do more with themselves than anything Paraguay did. They will improve as the tournament, they will beat both Uruguay and Jamaica but that doesn't make Paraguay any better. Uruguay is a much better team, even with that scrub Cavani leading the line, and even they suck.

Nah, they were being overrun, and Para was gaining ground. So the subs were definitely needed except he got them wrong. Should've kept Banega, and fortified MF by bringing someone like Perrerya. Biglia's still not match fit as he's just come off an injury, so his shaky cameo is understandable. The prob is Tata's exclusion of Enzo and calling up the glassman Gago and the charlatan Tevez limits their choices in MF.

Re: Copa America 2015
Messi played great i dont understand what he did wrong. He even played better in this match than he did in some barcelona games. Created 5-6 chances all out of nothing. No other player on the pitch created as much. Missed chances because he is under pressure in argentina shirt not relaxed. Scoring is a mind game when your mind is relaxed you will score easily. his one of the best skill is chipping the ball over goalkeeper and he never does it with argentina
Annother difference is barca dont concede 2 goals so easily. When they concede they usually make a draw or lose
