Alright, let me be clear about chat.

Chat has more cons than pros as someone mentioned earlier. And we barely have people on chat anymore unless it's a big match on CL nights. Which is when chat is open most of the time anyways.

It's always the same 5-10 people on chat and more often than not, football is rarely discussed and the chat is full of inside jokes which not everyone follows and lose interest leaving like 5 posters behind. This has been happening for more than a year.

Not opening chat during weekend matches have significantly made threads like EPL thread and Calcio thread more entertaining. There are better discussions there. More posters take part. Posters from different league can post comfortably too and it's good to read.

Chat is not getting finished but it will mostly be open during CL nights and during some weekends where I am bored.

Which is why I think you should open it randomly on non match days, It might increase people logging in regularly to check if its on or not. hmm

That was 4 years ago mate. Things have changed a lot. I still stand by what I said then. But activity before the 2014 WC was 20x more than what it is now. You know that too.

I think there should be a login feature for chat where users would require to post atleast 30 posts a week to access chat on a regular basis. imo

I kind of like what CB said, but I feel like my list of people are long gone. A few months ago I was feeling the desire to post more, but the lack of activity worried me. I could never forget this place, but I only find myself randomly logging in every few days.

I wouldn't single out just RG, the admins failed us as a group. RO, RG, JD, Dani, McLewis, Devi were all collectively at fault.

Part of being in charge of this forum was making sure that it wouldn't go to shit after 5 years.

At one point in time this community had a real shot at growing and being a very active place for the foreseeable future. I can't help but to compare us to myspace. Instead of actively looking to grow we took the 'don't fix what ain't broken' approach and we are where we are because of that.

My lack of activity comes from disinterest in football, i barely watch any Real Madrid matches let alone other teams. it just doesn't interest anymore, i've moved into other subjects and things that i'm more passionate about.

This, i feel the same tbh and have for a long time. I'm still active obviously but mainly outside of the football stuff.

I only really post in football section for banter lol.
