It was one bloody game
And no his spacial awareness and vision are not great, he constantly gives the ball away and tries to dribble out of every situation.
He needs to learn when to pass and when to dribble, he still hasn't and likely never will. He got away with over dribbling then for reasons I mentioned but he never will again.
One game?
He was our player of the season back then.

"On form" seems to be the go to excuse when someone's favourite player just isn't either performing or living up to expectations. On form, most talented footballers are excellent and dear Jack is quite talented.

Obviously english club fans disagree. Who cares. He played a good game that day and Arsenal won thanks to a crap referee. That's the story of that day.

Why? What I find weird is that how people here, I assume only here is that La Liga fans or whoever support other Spanish teams in CL or what not.
English club fans don't particular like and definitely don't root for other English teams in continental competitions.

I actually agree.
I didn't think he was anything special in that game.

Stop. Has nothing to do with favourtism. Two long-term injuries obviously derailed his career after a scintillating breakthrough season. People wank over Thiago yet hasn't had a full season in his entire career. He's been (slowly) getting back to that level going by his recent England performances (3 MoTM awards in a row) and that dominant performance against Man City a few weeks back.

So mad because another hyped up english talent didn't become more than an average player Â
I didn't mean to say it's like that in general but in this forum there are a lot of those guys. Or maybe it just feels that way because 90% of them are actually Arsenal supporters. Or trolls.Abramovich wrote:zigra wrote:Obviously english club fans disagree. Who cares. He played a good game that day and Arsenal won thanks to a crap referee. That's the story of that day.

La Masia is kinda overrated at this point. In the last 20 years I can think of 6 great players, maybe 7 that emerged from that academy. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Cesc(whom I don't know if can be considered a La Masia product), Thiago and maybe Valdes. That was a golden generation that probably won't ever emerge again. Please, don't put in that category scrubs like Pedro, Pique, Alba or Busquets.
And no Wilshere is not the best midfield talent in his age of group. Maybe top 5.

Oh yeah a 50 game season = 1 game. The way you talk, it was bloody easy for him to play central midfield against Barcelona that year.
His spacial awareness is great if you know what the term actually means. Saying that though his decision making has been carp since his injuries, but he did not over dribble in 10 11

Thiago is, yes. Samper has not done enough to be compared to Wilshere
