Memphis Depay - Future Flop, now a MC

I should rephrase myself I was referring to 1v1 situations. He's fine at dribbling in the sense that he's good at carrying the ball forward (he has good close control). Definitely better than current Suarez in that regard. However, 1v1 he's very inefficient. I'm sure there are clips of him putting defenders on the ground, but for every moment like that he had 20 moments where he couldn't do so right after.

I remember getting eye sores seeing him try to take on his man in a wide left role for LVG. He seems to lack that explosive first step despite being relatively quick. So I feel he's wasted hugging the touch line, but he would be fine as an inside forward. To me, it makes sense why's he been moved to a front two.

He has good close control to operate in small and tight spaces and it allows him to play closer to goal and take advantage of his shooting as well as simplifying his game.

Also, he is hilariously inconsistent. Good fucking luck with that one.

Pretty sure he is gonna be a backup to Griezmann in CF.

Not just Barca's talisman. He could be the face of La Liga as well. Given that the best La Liga could afford are finished superstars like Bale and Suarez, this could be a huge opportunity for Depay.
