Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
Done and Done.
Great young player, I certainly think he is capable of playing for us one day. He is bossing it in the CL and BL, atm.
Only conceded one goal in two games against Juve ffs

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
Christensen was named Borussia M'Gladbach's player of the month for October
Could we have another Courtois loanee on our hands? But this time it's a player from our own academy

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
It would, he looks highly promising, too.
I think he would make an ideal replacement for Cahill, once we've replaced Terry with Stones, of course

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
So he apparently have no recall clause in his loan.....
And BMG want to buy him outright.

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
And based on the recent quotes of his I've seen, he's not too averse to the idea. But then why should he be? When he's earnt his stripes in the youth ranks and abroad on loan, only to have the club sign some shithouse MLS player bought for little more than to hock more shirts to gullible yanks. I'd be eager to hightail out too.

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
The Mirror are reporting that Chelsea want Christensen to replace Terry at the end of the season.

While I think this is a fantastic idea, I think we still need to buy a CB, someone with experience, though.
And that is if Ivanovic is to remain a RB, if not, 5 CB's is too many, and I'm not sure I trust a defensive combo of Zouma-Christensen, just yet.

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
According to Max Eberl (Gladbach sport director), there is no way that Chelsea can recall Andreas Christensen before the end of the 2 year loan, though. So I guess things might get interesting ^^

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
As long as he plays. He will be a starter for 10 years for us. We really need players to play at a top level. We've got regular starters at the top 2 in premier league at the moment. But we need more. Also we need to stop having players in Holland as that league isn't any better than the Danish, or at least it's barely better anymore.

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
You can be sure that he'll play as he does really well for Gladbach. That's why Max Eberl would totally love to buy him but it looks increasingly improbable, the better the boy gets ^^

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
I am aware there is no recall option, RWO.
But I don't think that means we can't recall him, if all parties agreed, I am sure a deal to recall him could be made.
Perhaps by loaning another player in his place?

On Friday, Andreas Christensen scored the only goal for Gladbach into the right net:

Apparently he did very well on his full international debut for Denmark, too.

Should've gotten that full debut over a year ago. Also Eriksen finally was great. Who knew a competent coach would do these things

It's horrible We should have been in the Euros without any problems. Never seen a bigger choke in my life.
But Andreas is amazing. You should def keep him. It would be stupid to let him go, he's so young and versatile.

I agree, I hope we do keep him, he and Zouma could make a great partnership in the future.

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/3/26/11310092/denmark-coach-claims-andreas-christensen-plays-like-beckenbauer"He reminds me of Franz Beckenbauer — he still has work to do to reach him — in his playing style, because he's really relaxed and elegant. It almost looks like he could be playing in a suit. Yesterday [vs Iceland] he did fantastic. He went in to the game with the calmness that was needed, he was strong in duels, and anticipatory. He has the whole package, and he's humble and listens, so I am well impressed by him."
"He has a fantastic football future ahead of him. Actually, he has a difficult role [on the NT team], because it probably takes even more experience than he has, but he still solves the assignment in an excellent way. He has to lay deep between Simon Kjær and Daniel Agger when we defend, and then he has to go up in midfield and be a defending midfielder, when we attack. It takes both intelligence and courage to solve it, but he solves it nicely."
Huge praise for

Re: Andreas Christensen - The Great Dane
Bild are reporting that we want to recall Christensen this summer and are thinking of sending Ake to BMG as a replacement.
While the Guardian are reporting that Christensen himself will be the hardest to convince to agree to the recall.
So, by the sounds of it, we send Ake to BMG, and convince Andreas that he'll be first choice, which he should tbh, and we're set
Get it done, Emanelo!

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/30/chelsea-andreas-christensen-gladbach-loanCutting short the loan would need agreement from all three parties but, whereas Gladbach might have considered an offer, Christensen is understood to be more inclined to remain in Germany in the knowledge he will benefit from regular football for a further season. The Dane, capped four times, is making that decision on the assumption that, once the new manager is granted transfer funds and Zouma returns to fitness, he may find himself the third- or fourth-choice centre-back at Stamford Bridge and reduced to appearances in the domestic cup competitions at best.
