Arsenalfaithfull wrote:would love Klopp to manage Arsenal. I dont see him being sacked. Man has worked wonders rescuing a Dortmund organization which was on the verge of going to the abyss. One bad season in Germany does not warrant a sack imo.
Yeah no one even thinks about sacking him and rightly so.
Imo something like current season was always going to happen one day. Since the rise Dortmund and Klopp were never really in any kind of crisis. Of course the media tried to invent some stuff but at the end of the day they just had great year after great year. Now is the first time they actually do have big problems and I guess they'll learn from that.
However I do think they'll finish lower than most expect at the moment. People are still discussin 4th place trophy and while it's still perfectly possible I see them finishing something like 6th-8th personally. But then again in football you can change so much in just a few games.. if they win a series of 4 or 5 games it's a completely different story already.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
Dortmund could do a Chelsea and win the CL while ending outside the CL spots in the BL. That would nicely end their crisis and possibly send Bayern into a crisis of their own

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
Why should that send Bayern in a crisis? I guess even they don't expect to win the CL.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
I don't think anyone ever besides Real fans expects to win the CL.
BTW winning the UCL doesn't get you into the UCL, does it?

It does. Pool 2005, Chelsea 2012 being prime examples iirc.

Yes, they changed the rule after Liverpool.
I think though that means that the 4th place quali spot would not count, which is a glaring contradiction to the new EL winner rule.

It will possibly not look better after Dortmund's match against Gladbach tomorrow.

I like how a flipped table seems more probably than the current table 3 of of the bottom 4 were champions in the last 10 years...
But then again Werder and HSV have been flirting with relegation for longer.

Dortmund's situation is similar to WSW's in Australia - they won the Asian Champions League but are bottom of the table in the domestic league.

Klopp wants to get sacked so he can get himself paid out before he joins Liverpool. Nothing to see here.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
well, losing Lewandowski while adding Kagawa, Ginter, Immobile and Ramos doesn't really explain 7 points out of 11 games, does it.
There's no excuse for being last in the league, really. They need to get it together quickly.

Meh, they played rather well in all the matches they lost, they're mostly just one confidence boost away from cruising towards a UCL spot, and today will have helped them a lot.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
yep, today was an incredibly important win. Now 9 points to 4th place, if they win a few games in a row they can be back in the mix for the international spots rather quickly.
I don't think it will work quite like that though, with 11 games played this is too much to be just brushed aside as an accident.

Klopp Sack Watch
How can you have a Top 10 team bottom of the League? Time to start questioning whether he was really that good to begin with.
