Where should Barca move to if kicked out of La Liga?

We'd probably go in representing Spain if that were to occur for that season.

yeah they would. It's the league that is assigned the CL spot, not the club, hence why every league can partition it however they want.sportsczy wrote:UEFA wouldn't take Barca out of CL if it had already qualified itself based on the La Liga season... In fact, i think it would he illegal of UEFA to do so.
In the incredibly unlikely event that this would happen what I can see happening would be Ligue 1 being expanded to a 20 team league with Barça and Espanyol being indicted into the first division. Barça and Espanyol would miss out on whatever European football they qualified for and would have to earn it in the league.

It's given to that league for its previous year's competition.... whoever was in it. Barca had earned its La Liga CL spot by participating in the competition and being the top 3 while playing 38 games. All revenue for Barca's participation in that year's competition were reaped by the league. So La Liga must give Barca its CL spot. It's like winning an annual prize. The prize is won and there's nothing the organizers can do about it if you choose not to participate in the competition the next year.
It's part of the compensation for your participation in a very defined timeframe.
It's very, very clear. That's why Ligue 1 was so worried when Monaco was going to leave the league due to the tax issue in the middle of last season. If Monaco had earned a CL spot and left, Ligue 1 would have to give them one of their CL spots even if they were in Serie A the following year.
Debated to death here and sports experts/attorneys confirmed on talk shows... there were a bunch of issues with Monaco leaving Ligue 1. But since Ligue 1 was the one kicking Monaco out... the consequences were all theirs. They would have to bear the liability if any. But since the TV deals for Europe are handled as a whole by UEFA in aggregate, that potential issue was not one of them.
