When are we ever going to win again???
Basically the shithouse thread. All the negative Nancy's get together and talk about our dismay whenever we have a shit period during the season (like right now).
Seriously though this season has been so underwhelming and frustrating so far

Re: When are we ever going to win again???
On the bright side, we're no more than three points off the 4th-placed Arsenal. Then again, a lot of teams in between there as we are only 12th in the table, could be 13th or 14th if West Brom and/or Stoke win their games. I mean, damn, if West Brom beat Burnley today, they'll have more points than us. Damn.
Anyway, we'll start winning when our attack improves. Not really any of our attacking signings of the summer - Lallana, Markovic, Lambert, Balotelli - have made things happen in the final third. But I'm not really blaming them individually as it looks obvious to me that they're lacking clear instructions and plan in attack. I look at Rodgers to fix this, he's in charge, he's made the signings, it's his responsibility to get more out of the talent & skill we have in the squad.
Our next league game is at home against the already-mentioned West Brom and after that it's the poor QPR away. We must get a minimum of four points from those games, imho.

Re: When are we ever going to win again???
I think the redeeming feature is, none of the other top 4 contenders exactly look like world beaters. City/Chelsea will pull away...and neither of us/arsenal/man u/everton/spurs actually look impressive. Even with our awful start, we're only 3 points behind Arsenal.
Having said that, at the beginning of the season, that this season we should bring home some silverware, and as long as we do it, it'll be a satisfactory one for me. I really hope we do well in cups, and enjoy our CL experience. It's a long season, and could vary, but what I really really want is a trophy. any sort of it.
I'm very disappointed/baffled with some of the decisions BR is making and handling of some individuals, but this is his first season managing such big squad, and he is young and has never had to rotate or be ready for such intensity, so he'll inevitably make mistakes. We should just hope he learns from them fast and adapts to change.
Still, the next 3 games in build up to Madrid game are massive. We desperately need SIX (NO LESS) from WBA/QPR in the league, and avoiding defeat in Basel on Wednesday should put us in a great position to qualify from our CL group.
I think it'll be a bit rosier if we're 13 pts from 8 games and clear second in our CL group going into that Madrid clash on October 22nd.
I'm not in full meltdown yet, but if we mess up the next couple of league games, I may enter it.

Re: When are we ever going to win again???
I'm gonna go on a massive rant if we don't take 6 points from WBA and QPR ffs.
Up to now it's still very understandable what with our schedule being difficult, injuries, too many new players adjusting, teams shadow marking Stevie etc and mostly parking the bus.
Every season I'm very calm for August and September even when things don't go our way.
But October I expect everything to click and the manager to get his tactics and system right. I expect the players to start getting into 4th gear. I expect communication to improve etc.

This is a yet another huger transitional season, Top 4 will be a huge accomplishment this season.

Just because we lost Suarez? No, I don't see it like that, a top-4 finish shouldn't be a 'huge accomplishment' this season.

It will be, Too many new players in, Previous system no longer working. Its gonna take more than tweaks to fix this system. Also you dont see Sturridge as the answer
to our problems.
United back in form, get have decent competition this time. Lets hope we get back on track before the top 4 start breaking away.

I'm not willing to put the extent of our struggles down to having new players. Costa and Fabregas are new at Chelsea and have been their best players. If United are back in form, it's thanks to their new players. Southampton's new players have carried them to second in the table.

Would argue the first two having WC players, But something just hasn't clicked for us. I agree. Lets see, A win at Basel would put us 6 points clear of 3rd place probably.

Costa and Cesc are well established elite players, we didn't buy any in that caliber so why would you expect them to perform like them two?
Top 4 would be a accomplishment this season, we lost the 3rd best player in the world and replaced him with a bunch of young kids and average at best players.

How exactly are United back in form ??
They beat an awful QPR side, got destroyed against Leicester, and scrapped past West Ham AT HOME thanks to an awful refereeing decision (Nolan's goal was onside).

I'm not expecting our new players to perform like Costa and Fabregas, I'm saying that new players can hit the ground running and that saying "we have new players in the team, therefore we're struggling" isn't really a good excuse.
A top-4 finish is always a decent accomplishment in this league, but not a 'huge' one, like Hank said, for a club that finished 2nd last season. I'm not happy looking at this season like "it can be an OK season even if we don't get into top-4". Get into the top-4 and it will have been a successful season; fall out of the top-4 and it will have been a failure.

Are we ever going to get it right again?
*bleep* pissing me off everyone involved at the club at the moment. Right down from corporate to management and their ideals to the *bleep* players and their stupid inept attitudes and inabilities.
Seriously, which team looks like world beaters one season, gets 2 points away from winning the title, and goes back to being shit like we do? Happened after 2001-02, happened after 2008-09, and it's happening again.
*bleep* THIS SHIT!!!
All of our hopes lie on the health of an injury prone guy who is frustratingly stupid for his own good. (I don't know why I'm pissed at Dan, but I am, even though it's really not his fault). I feel like 90% of his injuries could have been prevented if Sturridge grew some balls and told Hodgson to *bleep* off instead of being a sissy and getting his resolve tested over and over again.
*bleep* THIS SHIT!!
Everyone has *bleep* up big time this summer. We sold arguably the best player in the world and brought in a bunch of pos' and our manager is holding his c*ck and getting embarrassed in press conferences repeating the same bull shit over and over again. All of his eggs are getting blown up in his face after making fun of other teams and then going and doing the same shit himself. He talks big, like he's Shankly, having achieved absolutely *bleep* all. Has been here 2.5 years and the defense looks worse than we've ever had in recent memory. But all he does is blame it on the *bleep* inept players (whom he signed himself in the first place) instead of looking at the glaring hole in his own goddam system.
*bleep* THIS SHIT!!!
We've spent more money than every club except City and Chelsea since PL started and we have absolutely shit to show for it domestically in that 25 year span. Shove your measly mickey mouse cups right up your arse.
We've got an ownership who live in a fantasy land of value for money. They keep insisting that we buy 10 players at 10m each in hopes that one of them turn quality, instead of just buying some quality in the first place. The manager, who is just a puppet, keeps feeding us bullshit about buying quality over quantity for 2.5 years then at the first sight of money goes and buys every average footballer in the world.
*bleep* THIS SHIT!!!

It's all my fault guys, my top 3 team's have come 2nd for a combined 5 times out of 9 in the league over the past 3 years. Add to the incoming loss in the Asian champions league final that's 6 out of 10.

Re: When are we ever going to win again???
I'm happy with the system(s) Rodgers has us playing, but his transfers and man-management are letting him down.
It's been a combination of bad choices for transfer targets and managing the potential poorly. It's "hit the ground running or I'll chuck you to the fringes".
- Sakho. Paid big money and I think he has the potential to be a good CB for us, but is getting frozen out.
- Lovren. Is looking like a huge blunder.
- Jury out on Lallana and Markovic, but have not been game-changers so far.
- Borini and Allen. Two Rodgers' ex-players we paid good money for and I don't think either are truly LFC quality.
- Balotelli. He's been playing the way I thought he'd be playing. The problem is, he wasn't really what we needed.
- Summer of 2013. Alberto, Aspas, Ilori. What the f was that?
- Then there have been the occasional cases like Assaidi, who actually didn't do too bad on his rare appearances in the red shirt and had a good loan spell at Stoke. But you got the feeling he had fallen out with Rodgers and got frozen out at least partially for non-footballing reasons.
- We don't know the whole story, but apparently Agger was dealt with poorly, too.
There are way too many misses amongst our transfers in the Rodgers era and not enough hits.

We've played 15 games this season in all comps and have delivered only one, yes ONE, good performance. Have a think over that.
