Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:The fact you it's badly run is lulz tbh, you have got off lightly compared to some.

Take us for example, consistently in and around CL spots before Ashley and now we are supposed to be happy with surviving because he's an almighty klutz.

Oh your memory is short, hicks and Gillette ring any bells?

Yeah....

Not talking about the business side of things (which is what the owners do) They don't run the footballing part of the club as they are yanks and have absolutely zero clue.

I'm slating the management team behind the footballing decisions (transfers, scouting, tactics, etc).

And don't ever use those two pos' names even in jest with me.

PS. 6 weeks? Don't cehhhh

Well I guess I agree it can be argued your transfer business in summer as a whole and in detail was maybe not optimal, but then, again, I'm not really sure what your expectation are.

If my superficial knowledge is somewhat correct, you come off several years outside the CL, corresponding to a serious financial crisis with changing owners and changing managers.
Obviously that is mirrored in the state of your squad.

You're not equipped with world class players in every position and top players as replacements.
And why would you? Where would they come from?
These things work in time, you need a process. You overperformed last season, or clicked, had a good run, whatever you want to call it.
That was good footballing work right there, not least by Rodgers.

Now is the next step. Playing CL, losing your star, having to add depth, it's new terrain for Rodgers, etc.
You just can't transform the overall quality of your squad in one window. While losing massively with Suarez. And while having certain financial limitations. Not that you don't have money, but you can't buy di Maria and Falcao for example. You HAVE to take risks, buy prospects that may take time, be patient, etc pp.

I really don't get what expectations you in your right mind could have had for this season that a bad spell like now leads you to scenarios and proclamations of absolute doom and damnation.
Just don't get it, makes no sense to me.

I missed a Monday with Monday Night where you study in deep the structure and superstructure of clubs as Crystal Palace.
I missed Fantasy Premier League.
I missed Match of the day.
I missed to celebrate some unexpected hero as Shane Long.

Yea great to have it back.

Arsenal-United the best match obviously. Even with United's injuries, I am not confident at all. It will be either a draw or a late United win via RVP wonder goal.

I really hope we can put at least 5 past them though.

Losing Blind for this game has deflated me, he's been our best player this season. Just hope Carrick is fit enough to replace him.

A week ago I was confident of a United win, in the span of the following days we had injuries to DDG, Blind, Carrick.....and now Di Maria and Shaw have question marks as to whether they'll be fit enough to face Arsenal. And F international breaks.

Good thing for us Arsenal have been equally as dodgy, especially in defence. What we have over them is a better strike force, but they have one of the most in form players in the league in Sanchez. We keep him quite and we'll have a chance of winning. Hopefully Rooney continues his run of good form in the international break and carries that for this game, he usually plays well against Arsenal.

Should be a good game, def will be goals in it.

Oh...and expect a Welbeck goal Mad

Quit spreading this myth people, it will eventually stick.

Lambert was bought when Suarez was still a Pool player. Like 2 months before.

You can say Balotelli but not Lambert was bought to replace Suarez.

Discouraging and unequivocally condemning things like this when they arise is paramount, but I don't think one-and-done justice where you commit one infraction and your entire career should be over is the way to go about things at all.

@Happy Hans, it is the strategy that I will moan about. When we knew that losing Suarez and injury prone Studge was an important factor to consider when they dealt in the summer. So it comes down to Strategy. So i am not against buying future prospects but they should have some balance. So the priorities set by club were wrong, I agree that club tried for Sanchez but we couldnt get him. So as a big club you need a plan when
1. You fail to get your target
2. Your important player gets injured
3. You lose a player like Suarez

Looks like we did not have a plan which would sustain us for the coming season. I would blame Rodgers and other management with him. Rodgers needs to find some formula with existing players to get results, till now it hasnt looked like he knows what he is doing. So only thing left is "hope".

tbh I think Mackay is a manager very good and he could be a legit manager in Premier League I still think that Cardiff would have not relegated if he wasn't sacked by Tan
but this " human being" doesn't deserve to coach again
Anyway he has concluded with Premier League , that environment is not lenient about certain behaviors

Mackay getting a job just proves how lucky football managers got it. You can be awful at your job or be a total scumbag, be rest assured there'll always be a job for you. Get paid handsomely in the process too.

maybe just Di Caniio won't get same credit.
I remind he was appreciated as manager when he coached the Swindon , but when he was signed by Sunderland suddenly all reminded his fascist vocation .
All were snobbing towards him. The golden lounge of Premier League can't accept similar men.
Then he was sacked and his experience is probably concluded because noone will have the courage to call him again.

I understand.
Question is though, what exactly can be done about it. How can you get adequate replacement for players like Suarez and Sturridge? They don't grow on trees.
Sanchez would have been one, if he doesn't want to join you though, how much blame can be put on your club officials?
Shaqiri, we refused to sell. Even he would not have been the same.
How many players are there that will do? Of those, how many players will get higher wages elsewhere, or would prefer a safer bet as for CL? etc

And in any case, you can't expect something to function right away.
I remember people, both pool and United fans, saying "hey, since they're bound to lose him next year for a low clause, why don't we offer Dortmung gazillions of € NOW for Reus?1 SURELY they will want to cash in big"...
Well, Dortmund know why they didn't do it. They may then have 50-60m €, but no Reus. Some things you can't buy for money. A player that has grown into a leading role can't be replaced easily, his replacement will in any case have to grow as well, if at all. You will be impacted.
What kind of masterplan should have existed to avoid this?

That's why I think many of you had too high expectations.
Don't want to judge whether your board did well or could have done better, but it's no doubt they had a very tough task.
Depth needed to be added for the extra games, fans demand a consolidation/improvement in quality, while the best *bleep* player in the league leaves the team. And then Sturridge is injured all the time.
Add to that the changed perception in environment, higher expectations, teams expecting and adapting to a 'top' team, etc
I mean, isn't it just necessary to settle for a bit less then you thought?

No I don't mean that he should forever be jobless. But he has gotten away without any punishment at all. He has broken countless laws with anti-Semitism, racism ,sexism, all punishable according to UK's law.

No idea how many footballers he put off because of his attitude and to be back in a job to most likely continue in his older way is a bit shocking.
