@JamesPearceEcho: #LFC striker Daniel Sturridge's hopes of a comeback this weekend set to be dashed by new thigh injury. Full story on ECHO site shortly.
Fair to say it's not been Sturridge's season so far.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V3
Nope...they can't latch onto Hodgson this time and use him as a scapegoat. It should finally dawn on them that, like many of us knew, Sturridge is a crock.
Liverpool should have prepared for this in the summer after knowing there was a big chance that Suarez is going to leave, prepare for suitable replacements.
Instead they bought Lambert, and then panic bought Balotelli. 2 players that dont fit Rodgers' style of play.
Now they're relying on an inury prone player to get them goals.
I think they have donkeys running their transfer business.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V3
Yeah, we really did lose the ball in the summer when we lined up Balotelli, Lambert and Borini as our strikers besides Sturridge.
I like having Lambert, he was cheap and did well for Southampton in the Prem, but you obviously cannot rely on him to replace Sturridge.
I still like having Balotelli, too, but not in the role Rodgers is making him play week after week. Both Balotelli and Lambert are much more suited to a supporting striker role.
Borini I would have gladly sold for the quoted ÂŁ14m, but he refused the move, so... now we're - the fans anyway - looking to him as the man who is the most suited to play as an out-and-out striker for us in Sturridge's absence, a player who has two goals in all competitions in the Liverpool shirt

The fact you it's badly run is lulz tbh, you have got off lightly compared to some.
Take us for example, consistently in and around CL spots before Ashley and now we are supposed to be happy with surviving because he's an almighty klutz.
Oh your memory is short, hicks and Gillette ring any bells?
Yeah....

I wouldn't say you are poorly run, just mismanagement in terms of player management.
Problem is that's been a issue for a long time, as good as Wenger like all managers he does have flaws and that happens to be one of them.

Not talking about the business side of things (which is what the owners do) They don't run the footballing part of the club as they are yanks and have absolutely zero clue.
I'm slating the management team behind the footballing decisions (transfers, scouting, tactics, etc).
And don't ever use those two pos' names even in jest with me.
PS. 6 weeks? Don't cehhhh

Well I guess I agree it can be argued your transfer business in summer as a whole and in detail was maybe not optimal, but then, again, I'm not really sure what your expectation are.
If my superficial knowledge is somewhat correct, you come off several years outside the CL, corresponding to a serious financial crisis with changing owners and changing managers.
Obviously that is mirrored in the state of your squad.
You're not equipped with world class players in every position and top players as replacements.
And why would you? Where would they come from?
These things work in time, you need a process. You overperformed last season, or clicked, had a good run, whatever you want to call it.
That was good footballing work right there, not least by Rodgers.
Now is the next step. Playing CL, losing your star, having to add depth, it's new terrain for Rodgers, etc.
You just can't transform the overall quality of your squad in one window. While losing massively with Suarez. And while having certain financial limitations. Not that you don't have money, but you can't buy di Maria and Falcao for example. You HAVE to take risks, buy prospects that may take time, be patient, etc pp.
I really don't get what expectations you in your right mind could have had for this season that a bad spell like now leads you to scenarios and proclamations of absolute doom and damnation.
Just don't get it, makes no sense to me.
