And no rest for Sterling, but otherwise that's the line-up I wanted to see. Not feeling very confident, though.

Quite the comedy goal that, I wish PL teams would gift us goals like that, too.

What a funny half of football we've had here:

- Our goal was comical.

- Nothing's come off for Lambert to a point where it's been funny.

- The player we might have expected to be our best on the pitch, Sterling, has been the worst: He's lost the ball pretty much every time he's had it.

- Kolo Toure is just hilarious, that slip / slide tackle by the touchline x)


Anyway, we continue to create very little. So much passing it sideways but not enough movement or urgency.

Suso should have been there instead of Raheem.

Needed an extremely lucky goal from an 17-year-old to score against a Championship side at Anfield in 90 minutes

we need Sturridge back so badly. Lallana hopefully can do some of that on weekly basis against EPL teams. Sterling actually needed rest

And Lambert should be rested for 20 matches while the rest go on half pay till they can play football

Exactly what we needed before a Derby

Going to be a long season.

Worried about burning Sterling out again. Lallana, Sterling, Manquillo played 120 mins here, So did Mignolet of all people.

Anyways, Happy for Rossiter and Williams. Through to the next round.

We REALLY needed to win this. A loss would have been a disaster.

Everton's loss was a disaster. Trophiless for 18 years, and one of their best trophy chances gone as well as poorer start in the league with derby coming up.

If we beat them on Saturday, their fan base would go in carnage.

I'm glad we won in the manner that we did....it took heat off the bad performance and should be a good confidence booster.

Had an exam during the match but was able to catch the extra time and pens.

Really glad we're through, think we can definitely win this with United, Arsenal, Everton already out.

Let's hope Spurs, Chelsea, and City mess up tomorrow or along the way knock each other out.

I hope he doesn't but it looks like he will, honestly think it's a big step down for his career. I understand if he thinks he'll get more game time there, he needs it now or it can damage his devlopment as a player.
