Absolutely. A win here and we're back in the big time. A loss and we risk being labelled as a team that can beat the mid-table, but can't compete for the title.

It's too soon for such talk . A loss is one loss . That's it. Win or lose , we aren't going to be labeled anything. And it will still be 3 games into the season , regardless of the result.

It will show on the road what this team can do and the title is rarely decided by such games. Derbies have their importance , especially for the players but that is it. You can lose every single derby and win the league comfortably if you win against fodder and mid table teams.

Juventus and Roma will be doing just that this season and as much as i want to say the same for Milan , we aren't on their level yet , no matter how promising the team looks.

Nah, you need momentum and winning mentality. One loss can damage team confidence significantly.

Of course it can , but it won't be the end of the world , neither foreshadowing for the title if we win.

It will be just the 3rd game in the season and that's all there is to it really. It is soon . We don't know how we can cope with injuries yet , we don't know if they can keep it up , we still have to face almost everyone in the league.

I agree to the first part of your sentence , of course . Although , regardless of the result of the next game , that will require many , many more wins . Then would be a nice time to talk about the title , imo at least.

2 wins and all of a sudden beating Juventus is expected and a requirement hmm

Calma. Taking points off of the likes of Napoli should be expected. Dropping points against us or Roma means nothing.

Can't wait until we score the game winning goal in the last minute and Inzaghi runs on to the pitch to celebrate with the players. Proud

Well , it's one thing to hope for the win and something entirely different to expect it . I don't see how you assumed the part of expected or a win being a requirement lol , they just show confidence , which isn't unfounded btw .

In any case my point was and still is , and that is regardless of Juventus as it would be exactly the same had we been up against Roma , even if we do win the next game it will still be early to draw conclusions as to if Milan can aim for the league . Although i agree with Ganso , it will set a positive path for the team if we did win . And although i don't expect a win , i certainly don't expect certain defeat either . It will be an open game , acting like we are out of your league , lol u avin a giggle there m8 , we'll fekn rek ye team swer on me mum m8 Proud

If that's not suggesting that Milan practically need to take points off of Juventus then I don't know what is.

rofl

Really , i don't see like they're expecting a certain win. More like what they hope will be to better our chances for a good season . I'd say they would say exactly the same whatever our next game was , or maybe i could just let them confirm hmm

that could be an option right

Unless Milan lose to us by a big margin, I don't see any outsiders views on Milan changing tbh

Most people see Milan as outsiders for a 3rd place finish, behind the likes of Fiorentina and Crappoli. So a standard loss of points to us or Roma doesn't really change anything in the grand scheme of things.

pretty much what my current thoughts are , but you never know. Nobody expected Juventus to win the league at this point in 11-12 either(except Buffon lol) , but they did. A 3rd place finish seems to be the goal right now , idk for much else . If it does come to more than 3rd place trophy , i could certainly not say at this point.

As for the derby , even if we do win , i will still hold it . There's just so much more to be played . We can win though , however difficult it may prove to be . And if you win , i really doubt you will win emphaticaly .

Should it not be our ambition to take points of every team we face? Or have I drifted into the bizarro world where the team with the least points at the end of the season wins the title? Laughing

On a serious note, with Menez in such good form, should we start Torres if he's back from injury?

We shouldn't, I'd rather play SES-Menez-Honda in attack for that game. With Menez form atm he should be an absolute starter, but if inzaghi wants to risk it I'd bench Honda for Torres and play menez as RW.

Despite a good showing Bonaventura should start on the bench, I like him alot but he still needs time to gel in. I wanna see Van Ginkel get some minutes tho. He's a Poli type of player from what I've seen so he can rotate with poli no problem.

Main concern is Defence honestly.. the parma game showed we're careless in defense(not new lolol). Alex, Lopez and Bonera won't be available. That Leaves us if Abbiati, Rami and Zapata as CBs. On the fullbacks, Abate is in great form too, shouldn't be touched, De Sciglio had an awful game(even without the own goal) I would think twice before fielding him as starter. I like Armero, but it can also be a gamble since he hasn't started for us before..We'll see.
