A 256GB version will be priced at $1,149 (£1,149 in the UK).
Doesn't cost the same in maintenance though
Imagine a phone that costs 300kr to charge

The more I think about this the more disappointed I am. I was going to get the 8, but the only difference is the back redesign and the A11 chip instead of the A10. That's it. It's like they didn't care about the 8 at all.M99 wrote:I just noticed, they went straight to 8 and not 7S
I can buy the 7 128GB for 50 less which will have twice the storage.
Iphone X aside there is very little difference between the 6S, the 7 and the 8. Apple has let itself stagnate.

I'm curious, what does this phone actually do that any normal person would really benefit from regularly, to warrant dropping 1 grand on a phone. Does it jerk you off and make you coffee every morning?

I'm not impressed by Apple's latest models, think I'll buy a non- Apple phone for the first time in a really long time.

Apple are really pushing their luck nowadays. Only so long you can string the sheep along to slaughter before one of them asks "wassup"

@Kaladin
How has your iPhone X been? Do you like it?
They're releasing iPhone X SE btw, I'd honestly be interested in a smaller phone. All they do these days is make the phones so big they don't fit in your pocket, I hate that lol
$799 is a lot though, i dunno if i want to spend that much on a phone. Seems kinda pointless really

Re: Official Apple Thread
Apple shows off three new iPhones and smartwatch to detect heart problems
Apple has launched a trio of iPhones and upgraded smartwatches that can detect heart problems at its annual product launch event in Cupertino on Wednesday.
The tech giant unveiled a new iteration of the flagship iPhone X with a 5.8in screen dubbed the iPhone XS – pronounced “ten S” rather than “excess” as well as the iPhone XS Max, which comes with a larger 6.5in screen.
The company is also launching a lower-cost 6.1inch version, the iPhone XR. The iPhone XR comes in a range of candy colours, is made from aluminium rather than stainless steel, has a single camera system and trades the OLED screen of its more expensive counterparts for an edge-to-edge LCD screen.
The iPhone XR starts at $749 for 64GB of storage; the iPhone XS at $999; and the iPhone XS Max at $1099. All can be pre-ordered from 19 October and will start shipping the following week.
Apple also unveiled the the Apple Watch Series 4, with improved cellular connectivity, larger screen, more powerful processor and a range of additional health-tracking features.
The smartwatches now feature an electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor which can measure not only the heart’s rate but its rhythm. Such a sensor can detect heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, a common cause of strokes. The watches, which have been endorsed by the American Heart Association and have clearance from the FDA, still have the original optical sensors, which flash pulsed light through the skin to detect heart rate.

If i have kids, they will want these phones. By that time they'll probably be £1500 if not more.
Another reason to not have kids

Re: Official Apple Thread
Just get them 3 year old refurbished ones off ebay. RG pls
Was looking forward to seeing what they come up with for new ear pods. Guess they punted that for next year. I'm looking for truly wireless buds and the no noise blocking/cancellation, no waterproofing, bad grip means they're near the bottom of the list. They are, however, the only ones that look like they're not hearing aids.

Can't believe Iphone X is a year old, already. Feels like I bought it only 3-4 months ago. Mystats: I've always preferred smaller phones myself, but the top models all seem to be massive bricks, these days. I almost went and bought an Iphone SE a few years ago, but it just seemed like an inferior model, with lame color alternatives and cheap material.

Re: Official Apple Thread
I think iPhone SE/6/6s are just enough and chasing after the latest model every time is quite frankly stupid. What do you need from your phone really? If your phone works fine, why do you chase after the latest model? To be hip?
I dont get this getting a new model every year frenzy. I have a 6S and I'm more than happy and I never even thought about getting a more updated model.

I've traditionally only bought a new phone every 3-4 years or so. When I do buy one, though, I don't see why I shouldn't get the latest model. The 6s is perfectly fine. Had to replace mine, since it's battery was really starting to act up. Same thing that happened to my 5S, which became completely useless after a while.
I was really looking forward to the much anticipated release of a 4 inch Iphone a few years back, before it was revealed to be the Iphone SE. It didn't impress me. Something tells me that phone didn't sell very well, because I've never actually seen one outside of an Apple or electronic retail store. I think they missed the mark with their attempt to appeal towards the younger generations with their flamboyant color schemes and advertisements. Kids and teenagers these days are used to the larger phones, they don't have a problem with it. It's the millenials that were requesting a return of the 4 inch phone, something Tim Cook seems to care little about.

The screen size changed but the physical item remains the same size because they removed the bezels. You can see it clearly here:

The iphone xs is about the same size as the iphone 6.

Thats true but you don't have to buy their product same as you don't have to buy $400 Supreme shirts when you can have a $5 H&M shirt made from the same material.

The iphone xs is about the same size as the iphone 6.
And I preferred the size of the Iphone 5, is my point. 4 inches. Didn't like typing on it, but otherwise, the size was perfect.

On the contrary it's not expensive enough. They should've released a 2000$ phone, it would've outsold all the others combined.
Well next year it is then.

Who even updates on a yearly basis? It's the same phone as last year with a slightly improved camera. My 6s looks like a dog ate it but I hate the current iPhone line-up. They're dead to me unless they make a SE form factor phone. If I'm forced to update i'll probably just get iPhone 8, its good enough and below 5 inches

iPhone has barely improved since the 6. Everyone else has leaped past it. No one even cares about the announcements today.

I agree. I do care about the 5 hour longer battery capacity, but I'm not going to upgrade from my Iphone X already, and I'm seriously considering getting a Samsung for my next phone. Apple stopped being innovative with their phones since Steve Jobs passed away. They don't even distinguish themselves by producing smaller phones with hardware comparable to it's larger competitors, anymore.
