Bulgarian side Ludogorets have just qualified for the Champions League by winning a penalty shoot-out with their centre back in goal.

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
Why do we have to explain how UEFA co-efficients work every year?
Atletico, Benfica and Porto amassed points through deep runs in the Europa League. Porto won it a couple of years back. Benfica have been in back-to-back finals. Atletico have won it twice in recent years, too, and will have been boosted by last year's final and by winning La Liga.
Arsenal are Pot 1 due to reaching the knock-out rounds of the Champions League for several years. They've basically acquired points without going too far. Should be pointed out that had Man Utd and Valencia qualified, Arsenal would've been Pot 2. They're clinging on.

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
How does the UCL qualifiers draw work? Is there not system in place to prevent the best leagues from having an early show off or even make the competition?
It's ridiculous Napoli have to play Athletic while Bate have to play Slovan Bratislava...
Yes I am butthurt

with the way Napoli played they could lose against either of those teams. Bilbao dominated the game

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
As if Bilbao were a bad team Especially at home they are nearly unbeatable. They only lost 2 games home all season (against Atleti and Espanyol, they won against Barca and drew R Madrid).Lupi wrote:

Bilbao is a good team but if Napoli wanted to do anything in CL they should have done much better

You sure you want Basel? They may have lost Yann Sommer, but Paolo Sousa seems to be a very able coach.RealGunner wrote:Arsenal

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
Liverpool and Leverkusen will determine the groups of death really. They are by far the strongest teams in pot 3. Roma a big threat from pot 4 also.

Bilbao at the San Mames, that's like World Cup final atmosphere. Any team stepping in that place will have a headache. Especially teams outside of la Liga who aren't use to it. Best best with them is to end the series at home before having to go there, and Napoli failed at home. I knew they were in some shit given that they would have to go through San Mames to qualify

Liverpool are tge English version of Schalke, don't think any big teams ' fear ' them.

meh barca doesn't need a coach to teach them how to play, just a drill sergeant who'll get everyone running.
