Or it was with another rastler and WWE decided to use it as an excuse during budget cuts to save 6 figure money.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 17
F4Wonline.com backs up the earlier report that the story going around is Alberto Del Rio slapped a WWE.com reporter at this week’s TV tapings. We noted earlier it may have been a social media worker.
They noted there are a variety of different stories going around about what led to this incident.
It’s expected that Del Rio will have a 90-day non-compete clause, which would apply to AAA and TNA, who both have interest in him. We’ve noted that AAA is expanding into the United States soon.

WWE's George Barrios noted at the Needham fireside chat this week that WWE currently has 150,000 hours of footage in their library and only around 40,000 hours are digitized for the WWE Network.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 17
We noted yesterday that Triple H had the following to say about UFC at the Needham fireside chat earlier this week:
“UFC is not really a competitor to us. I explain it to our talent. They are like boxing. It’s completely different from what we are. We’re like the movie Rocky. We’re a story. We’re a great story that just happens to take place in the wrestling ring. In a boxing match, you’ll watch one time. You’re not going to go back and watch it a bunch of times unless you’re a connoisseur of boxing science. Rocky the movie?
You’ll watch over and over again. It’s a triumph story. It’s a love story. We create characters you gravitate to. That you connect with. Whether you hate them or love them. We put them in unique storylines with creative passions. We have good guys and bad guys. That’s what makes the network successful. Who is going to go back and watch the Super Bowl from 1984? Who is going to go back and watch boxing from five years ago? Our product is evergreen.”
Stephanie McMahon, who participated in the chat as well, also shared her thoughts on UFC. Here’s a transcript of what she said:
“With UFC you can pay money to watch a PPV but it can be a terrible fight, right? The guy you’re rooting for that UFC has been building gets knocked right off and suddenly that person doesn’t really matter anymore. All that investment is lost. You never have that with WWE, we strategically build out Superstars and characters. We know when they are going to win, we know when they are going to lose. We build characters and make them megastars. It’s all very intentional and you’re guaranteed to get your money’s worth. It might not necessarily be the outcome you wanted but you’re guaranteed to have a great match, a great pay-per-view and you’re guaranteed to get entertained.”

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 17
As noted, WWE released Alberto Del Rio on Thursday for what they called an incident with an employee.
A third source has now reported that Del Rio allegedly slapped a WWE.com worker at this week’s TV tapings. The story going around is that Del Rio said he was responding to something said that he felt was racist in nature.
It was also said that WWE will not be commenting on the situation beyond the announcement that was made on their website yesterday.
We’ve also noted how Del Rio has expressed interest in leaving WWE once his contract expired this year. Del Rio recently relocated to Texas, which gave some people in WWE the impression that he moved to be closer to Mexico once his WWE run was over.

While details are still coming in from various sources & wrestlers, the story going around this morning is that Del Rio slapped a Social Media Manager at this weeks television (Likely Raw, since he wasn't on Smackdown).
The lead up to the confrontation started in catering, when sombody (assuming a catering staff member) asked the person (the Social Media Manager) to clean off his plate. The social media manager then joked about how that's "Del Rios Job".
Alberto found out and confronted him. The Social Media Manager didn't apologize and then smiled at him, so Del Rio slapped him.
In the company, the belief is that Del Rio will have his 90 days non-compete clause as per standard in the WWE, which will prevent a move to atleast TNA and more than likely AAA. AAA will be very interested in him, as they continue interest in its U.S. growth.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 17
Bryan Alvarez reported today on his audio show with Lance Storm that WWE is monitoring twitter accounts and any slip up could cause someone to get released. Everybody feels like they are walking on egg shells. If you make any sort of mistake then you are at risk of getting cut.
Alvarez said that he was told that if AJ Lee had the incident with Michelle Beadle now then she probably would have been fired because they are quick to release people due to budget cuts.
Alberto Del Rio is said to have saved his money well and he’s been unhappy with the company for about a year.
Alvarez confirmed that there’s interest in him from TNA. There’s also interest in him and Ricardo Rodriguez from AAA. In 90 days they can both go anywhere they want as a package.
Since they don’t have any lucha stars left on the roster (the original Sin Cara gone and Rey Mysterio is about to retire or has retired) then that probably means that Kalisto will be called up soon.
