Now that I'm so close to the completion of my law degree, I have a renewed sense that I've made a good decision to pursue this career. But I'd be lying if I said there weren't times when I hated studying law and was not enjoying myself at all. First year was not great for me either. I'm sure you made a good decision, journalism is awesome if you can make a career out of it.

Pre-law is an undergraduate track that helps to prepare you for law school. It's not required or anything but it's offered. It also isn't a major.

History is my undergrad major of choice there is no major for pre-law or law at the undergrad level. Its just a track that helps prep for law school.

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
I could major in culinary arts or english or bio for all I cared. In the end there is no requirement when it comes to a major for law school. History and law tend to be grouped together and are related. I also always had a passion for history.
Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Cheers guys.
Well if you're interested in law as a career then go for it. I just wasn't and did it more because I didn't know what else to do and I got in. I didn't like it, so no point putting myself through the hassle just so I can boast about having a law degree like half of law students seem to do.
Yeah, thats me haha. Such a flattering photo.. Would have thought the cameraman got at least one shot with my eyes open.
Actually I did the interview during my exams week. That day I did 2x2 hour exams, the interview then a 1000 word paper in Catalan when I got home with 3 hours to write it before it was due. Operating on like average 5 hrs sleep for the week. lol

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Yeah, these days most law students don't end up in law practice. It's regarded as a good general degree to have, but that's not really going to get you a career on its own. My advice to anyone starting a law degree would be to investigate the reality of the situation thoroughly. Jobs are very competitive, work involves long hours and law school can be completely devoid of creativity at times. Conversely, once you get into practice, you are working in an intellectually stimulating area where you can undertake challenging work and achieve great things. It's definitely not for everyone.
