All of their strikers played poorly this World Cup..

Ramero's attempt on Goetze's goal was disgraceful though.. He's supposed to 'make himself big' and attack the ball, not lean to one side.. Not to mention he was slow in getting off of his line

Congratulations Germany for winning the cup! The best team won, although I am utterly heart broken. At least you beat Brazil 7-1 at home, and I'll never forget that  eco smile

Yeah I noticed this as well. He kind of just jumps away from the goal without spreading his arms or legs.

Sabella says Aguero for Lavezzi was tactical. Appalling decision in that case. Should have let Lavezzi stay and bring on Aguero for Higuain.

Idk, when Neuer came out against Higuain it was at least a foul, I'm not sure if it was a pen or not as it happened 'on the line', but it was definitely a foul regardless.

Then again I'm biased so whatev...

Neuer would of saved that in his sleep.. Not having a WC goalie once again making the difference :coffee:

Shouldn't have brought on Aguero in the first place. He was invisible.

Didn't we create like 2 or 3 really good chances as soon as Aguero came on? If we had scored just one he would be hailed as a genius...

If only the goal were a fat chick, only then maybe Aguero would have tried to score...

Similar to the Spain vs Holland one in the world cup final 4 years ago with some added thuggery as well  hmm

Germany dominated possession yet Argentina had the best chances, had Messi or Higuian finished their chances things could have been different but they choked hard  rofl

Bringing on Aguero wasn't a bad move, but taking Lavezzi off was because his pace troubled Germany all match.

Aguero was horrible. Literally did everything wrong

was hoping they would bring on Di Maria late but I guess he wasn't fit enough after all.

One individual at this forum wrote a few days back this is not going to be Maradona 1986 but Maradone 1990 and he wrote that even before Argentina had played the semi final. I can't remember who it was but I take my hat off to him because it was prophetic.

Martin Tyler immediately brought up comparison to Schumacher in the 1982 semi-final but I disagreed with it fundamentally. Where as Schumacher simply took out the man, Neuer did actually get to the ball and first at that. It might have been dangerous, however I felt he was entitled to go for it. Higuain might have been collateral damage, but I thought it was the right call, even if I could understand why Gonzalo would feel aggrieved. I'd like to hear some more opinions on it though.

Also if removing Lavezzi was tactical then that might have cost them the final. To remove him due to fatigue or injury would have been fine of course, but his ability to turn and run in midfield or to get in behind Hoewedes was integral to many of Argentina's best moments in the first half.
