One is an actual midfielder but other is a striker warged into an attacking midfielders body. I dont think i have ever seen a player hiding from the ball as much as fabregas at Barca

cesc is slow, not the best in defense, and excels in attack.
both have above average through passes.
and both cannot hold the ball for longer then 3 seconds under pressure

Cesc didn't do well in Barca for the same reasons Kroos wouldn't so don't use that as an example look at cesc in arsenal, completely different player

Add in the fact Cesc is miles superior at goalscoring as well as playmaking and the debate is over.

Except Cesc is doing nothing ATM and Kroos was arguably the best player in the World Cup winning team.

Look i found another player similar to cesc , if that is how you compare players then surely can correlate Ozil and Messi.

Kroos can operate as a deep play maker, superbly. Watch him at Bayern munch, he is always there for the pass unlike the lost lamb who is always busy hiding behind marker or running away from the player with the ball.

Kroos's ability to hold onto the ball is unparalleled as he is often the player with the most touches on the ball in a game, nope he doesnt dribble two players to keep the ball at his feet. Who cares when he can intelligently play one twos to keep the ball?

Cesc fabregas hasnt played the CM role convincingly for years. Even in his last years at Arsenal he was playing the furthest. Not even going to talk about his midfield play in Barcalona...compare that to the most important midfielder in last years Bayern's record breaking campaign.

Not sure I agree with the rest of your post though lol. Cesc is a good player though, not his fault Barca are a graveyard for talent atm.

Unfortunately, you'll never know how Kroos plays for Barcelona as he, most likely, would not be going there. We do however know how Cesc central midfield adventure turned out. Average to lukewarm.

Just because Kroos takes pointless long shots doesn't make him a specialist at it. It's obvious who the better goalscorer is.

Long diagonal balls? My sides again. Fabregas is probably the best long passer in the world even ahead of Alonso. That aspect has simply never been utilized at Barca. Here's a Premier League compilation of his long passing with dozens of 40, 50 yard passes dropping inch perfect.

What do you mean "Arsenal's Cesc"? He is the same player just like Alexis Sanchez averaging 1 dribble per game at Barca but 5 dribbles per game at Chile is the same player or Nerman scoring 9 La Liga goals all season at Barca but 4 goals in 3 World Cup games is the same player. Kroos is all hype right now because he's part of great collective units like Bayern and Germany despite blatantly not standing out at all in any aspect of the game. Except for defensive deficiencies when played in a double pivot and hilarious backpasses. Says it all when Pep Guardiola doesn't care about keeping him at all costs, the man who would start with 11 midfielders in the starting XI if he could.

He declined after joining Barca. the system thing was effective right but he declined. His performances for both Spain NT and Barca were meh. it's like he peaked to early at Arsenal.

Anyways, if he gets back at it and performs for Chelsea i will admit he is better. but right now he is meh in my opinion. a shadow of his great days.

Cesc has not declined though he's just been used differently, Mourinho will probably use him correctly and you'll probably still say kroos is better just because he wears a white shirt.

Casc can not defend.

Cesc is not that great in dictating play.

Cesc is not that great in Intelligence and Ball Reception.

You can set-pieces as Kroos is good at it.

Cesc as a CM is a just poor and much worse than Kroos. However as a CAM he is slightly quicker, can score more goals, is slightly more creative and has slightly more vision and decision making in the final 3rd.

Both are different players. Cesc is useless as a CM compared to Kroos who has the best ball retention, positioning and circulation in the world. Kroos can dominate any mid-field.

I don't see Kroos offering defensively a lot or creativity which is why I never rated him that high but Cesc is nowhere good enough.
