Who will go through to the Semi final?
Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany
varane is prone for making those kind of mistakes.
his shit marking cost madrid few goals too.

anyway, congrats to Germany. i am now officially neutral except maybe supporting Brazil a little bit because of Marcelo.
Clear foul?
Hummels didn't push off if that's what you thinking.

Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany
I think he got caught in two minds. It looked like he wanted to get the ball but at the same time hold Hummels off. Should have just tried to do one or the other.

Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany
Early goal from Germany kind of killed the game imo, after that they mostly sat back and countered.
And of course France was awful at creating opportunities, their only creative sources are Benzema and Valbuena and both had an off game.

Don't really see anything special in Pogba tbh.

Like I said in chat, its not even something you should really blame Varane for.
Hummels is just physically stronger, he must have about 15kg on him.

He probably should have just focused on stopping but he got handled when he jumped up with him.
Which begs the question, why didn't Sakho mark him?

Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany
Meh, still happy about France's performance in the WC. Never thought they would actually reach the final.
Today's game was where the inexperience got the better of France. I have never liked Deschamps, he is a Moyes-esque maanger. And it was his job to make sure that France don't get tactically outsmarted in such a way. Germany gave a very professional performance. Germany efficiency. It's like Mertesacker said in the last match about playing this way to advance further rather than going out playing risky.
Still, expected more from France. I think Griezmann is a super-sub at best at this level. He had a very poor CL campaign with Sociedad and he has never performed when started for France either. He was great as a sub against tired legs. I think Deshamps should have tried Remy at LW.
But it doesn't matter now obviously. A lot to learn by the French team. Really proud of Benzema because he stepped up or tried to drive his team forward whenever France struggled. Pressure will be on his shoulders for Euro16.

Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany
elimination Euro 2012-esque for France
conceded the goal they have created nothing.
Spain-France was the worst knockout match of that Euro , Germany-France too . and it was for same reason.
I predicted Germany as WC winner before of WC , so it is not matter of elimination , but there is way and way to get knocked out , and all waited somehing of better , something of different from France..
But the personality in big games missed again.

I think he was marking Boateng, not sure. He is pretty dangerous himself but not a physical as a Hummels so yeah thats a strang one.

because varane's better in the air.
one is stronger but often gets beaten too easily in aerial challenges. ( sakho )
one is weaker , better in the air, but still shit at marking.
that mangala-kos i suggested before the world cup doesn't sound too bad now , eh ?

Sakho has his issues but he rarely ever gets beaten in the air.

Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany
Varane was in the air so it was easy to push him off like that.
times like this experience plays a huge part. Varane should've grabbed him or something. playing too clean has it's negative points.

But most of GL members don't get it, they thought France was going to win the Cup by smashing all the opponents 4-0, they seem to forget 8 months ago we did not even know if France was going to play the World Cup.
France did great progress in this World Cup, I'm prouf of this team.
But you know GL members are so versatile:
After an easy win of France -> "France is favourite to title, they're so great/impressive/amazing etc.."
France after a defeat -> " LOL FRANCE U NOOB, get eliminated, what a shame, what a flop team"
For France, their WC is won because they recovered French supporters love.

Why don't you buy it? France were playing like it was a friendly.
because germany are simply better .
france did try ... griezemann and valbuena were making runs behind the defense and pogba/ matuidi tried to find them dozens of times .... they couldn't .
matuidi and pogba made several runs towards the attack but lost the ball or the defense intercepted their passes.
they lost most of their one on ones .
they lost most of the aerial challenges.
it had nothing to do with lack of trying imo.

No one is saying France has to win 4-0 but when Mexico, Costa Rica and Algeria play with ten thousand times more heart and determination than you do despite the huge gap in talent then you deserve criticism.
I see no leaders on this France team. Lots of talented players but no real character and stuff like that may be the coach's fault but you also have to wonder why none of the players really gave it a go after the 70th minute facing elimination.
