Another two options for midfield in general where we were repeatedly caught very thin last season. (called for last season)

Another CAM option to push Coutinho, rotate with him when his inconsistency shows, and add a bigger midfield goal threat and other creative option. (Called for last season)

Improved depth at CF in case of injury to Sturridge. (Called for last season)

Creative/attacking options to come off the bench and offer a real threat. (Called for last season)
Depth is *bleep* overrated. Means squat if your starting XI is hardly good enough.

He's been defending the clubs transfers since 2010 ffs.

Depth isn't overrated at all.

The problem here is Liverpool has TOO MUCH DEPTH, not enough quality.

The only place we lack depth right now is a full back and for Gerrard.

We lack quality at CB, CF and a 10...

@ Sepi: Please and go suck on a big fat one. Maybe that'll shut you up... Or at the very least, don't mention me at all? Ta.

if you end up with lallana, coutinho, shaqiri, markovic, sterling, backing up sturridge. either in a 433 or 4231 with an henderson-gerrard double pivot, i will genuinely have a laugh

We have not played a single game under Rodgers with a 4-2-3-1 double pivot. He hates it, so we'll never see a Gerrard-Henderson double pivot. Rodgers isn't an idiot like that old fart Hodgson.

*cough* Lucas-Gerrard - Aspas/Moses as the 10 *cough*

No way, Depth is the difference between winning the EPL and winning the EPL and CL.
Depth gives you options to change it up as oppose to playing plan A 100% of the time.

Yeah that was at the beginning of the season when we were getting those 1-0 wins. Until we switched to 3 at the back that was our formation.

It does make a difference to an extent, but it's importance is unarguably overrated. Atletico won the La Liga and reached the CL finals utilizing only 24 players over the two competitions.

Our objective is not even to win the league but rather to sustain top four finishes over the forthcoming years and to maintain CL status, the chances of which look bleak given the ineptness of our transfer committee and their inability to replace our departing star player.

So far, we've signed two players for depth and Lallana, whom I'm skeptical about too since I don't believe he has the quality to be a guaranteed starter and that is discouraging since we have paid quite an amount for him.

I could be wrong but in my experience Pedulla and his 'agreements in principle' are generally non-existent  Sad

Could be interesting, I like Di Maria as a player and although Pogba is fantastic in and around the opposition box truth be told he's pretty awful in the defensive phase. Conte knows this, not sure Deschamps did and I'm not sure if anyone else does either. (pls don't tell Flo zealous Wink)

Question is Di Maria, plus what € on top?  hmm

Is it true that Haames boy from Monaco is valued at 80m € from his club...worth a try imo. If he gives us 2-3 brilliant seasons, we can sell him to Madrid for at least 100m €
BR will surely get best out of him :coffee:

Edit: in case he also wants to leave after winning 1 EPL title, 1 CL and probably 1 FA cup  Neutral

International football has been piss poor for a while. Whoever wins the WC wouldn't get past the quarters in the CL.
Thats the problem judging James.. Who has he played well against?
Sturridge last year had just as good a run of form as James has had this CL, against opposition just as good yet he's not worth 80m
The World Cup is a poor judge of talent

Ashley Cole and Salih Ucan have reportedly completed their medicals will sign for Roma sometime today or tomorrow.

Marko Basa's deal is on hold as Rene Girard is blocking the move while Lille have raised their asking price from 3m to 4-5m. Roma are still expected to meet that evaluation and have Basa join them in the US for the ICC friendlies.

Roma have met the agent of another former Chelsea man as they've renewed interest in Samuel Eto'o.

Roma have also sent representatives to Paris to speak with the representatives of PSG youngster Adrien Rabiot, whose mother has categorically denied any talks of his joining Roma.

nah, leave Florentino alone, the first question to ask is whether L'Equipe have a clue what they are talking about, because they are far from being reliable lately.

actually, i downloaded the printed edition of Lequipe from yesterday and today, there is no such exchange being talked about.

Congratulations twitter for another fabrication, and dummies all around retwitting without checking the source.

Reds set to loan World Cup star Origi back to France after agreeing fee with Lille

Liverpool FC have agreed an initial £6million fee that could rise to £9.5million with add-ons for Lille’s Divock Origi.

Talks with the Belgian 19-year-old are set to take place this week, however the striker will head back to France on a season-long loan as part of the deal.
