C'mon now Colombia had on paper the most balance group. Just because the way it played it doesn't mean you should be little the group.
Because in reality there are no "easy"groups and if there was it would be Argentina's without a doubt.

Itally's attack is a joke and England has stupid Gerard!!! wonder some people still talk this crap!!!
Accept both England and Italy are of lower quality than Uruguay and ofcourse Colombia did not even face such opponent as of yet--- fact. We will see how good Colombia is but if they can beat Uruguay i will beleive they have the quality to go further. right now, beating Japan,Greece and Ivory is fantastic but not overwhelming.

It's true lol.
Italy didn't score against Costa Rica or Uruguay or even look like doing so....their attack is utterly awful.
Gerrard was a complete and utter idiot and he himself would admit that
And Uruguay wasn't really any better they were just extremely lucky, other than what i already mentioned Godin should have been sent off against England and Suarez should have been against Italy.
Not to mention that Marchisio's red card is highly debateable, the decision whether to ban Suarez will be made before the game.
Their luck is about to run out.

Colombia should have this one in the bag.
We've got an all-South-American affair in this part of the bracket as the winner of this game is facing the winner from Brazil v Chile.

Re: Last 16: Colombia (1C) vs Uruguay(2D) 28.06.14
If there's one thing in Uruguay's favour, it's that they seem solid enough at the back and don't leave much space in behind when they go forward, which will be useful against a side as potent on the counter as Colombia.
I think there'll be more onus on Colombia to break Uruguay down and while they're capable of that, I don't think it'll be an easy win for them.
They've been a fantastic team to watch so I hope they go through.

Colombia should win this easily. James Rodriguez has been, IMO, the best player at the WC so far and he will be able to sink Uruguay -- especially without Suarez.

You're probably right , maybe i am not fair with Colombia and that "easiest group" out there.. ok .
I still maintain however , that this game will be absolutely nothing like the previous ones Colombia played in the group stages and i certainly wouldn't underestimate Uruguay , with or without Suarez , no matter how dependant their team is uppon him .

Its shame that South Americans are canceling each other so early stage of the tournament. Argentina will also possibly face Ecuador if Ecuador can go through to next stage

They just seem to have the experience combined with quality on their team to get it done. Colombia have looked quality though, destroying everyone on their path so it'll be a close one.
Your thoughts make good sense to me. I would have gone for Uruguay if Suarez had been there because of their greater know how. However losing your star player can mentally affect a team the best example being Argentina 1994 after the Maradona drugs expulsion. So Colombia should win this one even though Uruguay are born warriors.

If Cavani actually performed for Uruguay and they wasn't so unbelievably shit without Suarez you might have a point.
Its just reality I'm afraid without Suarez they are an average team and unless they can keep a clean sheet they are going out.

Re: Last 16: Colombia (1C) vs Uruguay(2D) 28.06.14
I think this will be a struggle for Uruguay after missing an important player Luis Suarez while for Colombia who is playing with their starlet can prove that they could be also a threat seeing James Rodriguez who always scored during the Group stages no wonder he could replicate what he started.
However I am worried that Uruguay will play it more physical recently they have a number of yellow cards which will not be good.
Comparison and Stats states that it will be difficult collision:

I think that's harsh. Suarez got all the limelight for the victory against England but it was Cavani's assist and he made good defensive contributions. Also while he took time to get going in Confed 2013 he was very good in the last couple of matches or so.

@ only 6 of us voting for Uruguay.
Surely you guys dont really think Colombia is going to win this?
This isnt Honduras we are talking about. Uruguay knows how to win against sides like this. Suarez or not.
Colombian fairytale ends tonight.

My main man Hames is going to deliver the performance of the tournament tonight.
Easy 3-1 for us.
Yepes to keep Cavani in his back pocket.
