I just chucked in 1-0's rather than actual scorelines but I don't think it would change much. Also didn't go for many draws, only decisions that are slightly extraordinary are Chile beating Italy imo.

matpol's predictions are very similar to mine.

Here's a German site created by the maths department of the Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main that simulates the World cup.

If you click on the button "spielen" (=play) next to Einmal (=once) you get a simulated World Cup tournament run based on probabilities.

This is based on some elaborate mathematic formulas and you can adjust the three weights
- Vergangene Spiele (=past matches)
- Torverhältnis (=goal difference)
- FIFA-Punkte (=points according to FIFA)

It does some really crazy things. Nigeria tops group F ahead of Argentina. Brazil get knocked out in the second round by their nemesis Netherlands. Switzerland knock out Germany in the quarter final. The final is between Argentina and Colombia. Only at the end good sense prevails and Argentina win the world cup.   

Well, the maths guys there concocted some really elaborate formulas and simulated this using probabilities - and sometimes probabilities can yield surprising results

Switzerland kicking out Germany probably is influenced by the last match where the Swiss won 5:3 against Germany. (Remember as default the last matches are weighed with 33% and if you look at the FIFA points, Switzerland are currently ranked 6 (!) in the FIFA-Ranking.
