Sociedad agree to pay Arsenal €11mil plus variables for the remaining 50% of Vela. Apparently, adding together the initial fee, plus the €11mil and variables, Arsenal will get a total of €20mil for the sale of Vela.

We essentially made €23million off of Vela in total (this current deal + the initial fee we sold 50% of his rights for). That's fantastic.

If Benzema wants to be the main striker and be treated like one, then Madrid signing Falcao wouldn't be the greatest vote of confidence. But then, he's apparently close to signing a new deal and he's been content to fight for his place before.

We can only speculate. What I will say is that Madrid would be nuts to sign Falcao and sell Benzema. I can't see how Ronaldo, Bale and Falcao would work together.

TF1 confirmed that Wenger was absent from commentating due to meetings with agents.

I may not understand it fully but is this what John Cross was talking about when he said Gazidis was annoyed at how involved Wenger made himself in transfer negotiations?

Does he just gauge their interest and then allow them to negotiate with a team set to discuss wages?

Wenger has to get involved as he's a massive pull, a respected manager to most players in the world. I know I'd rather want Arsene Wenger speaking to agents (and indirectly to players) rather than Gazidis explaining our new sponsorship with Puma Laughing

Wenger just trolls the Agents anyways.

I dont think Wenger is meeting agents we all know he likes to keep everything Top Top Top secret, not meeting at Brazil.

Apparently he was meeting with Alexis Sanchez's agent, according to someone from Cadena COPE.

As for why Wenger might meet with agents, it may be to just add that personal touch to things that you don't necessarily get with representatives or directors. I remember how Ramsey chose to sign for Arsenal over Man Utd because Wenger went to see him personally, whereas Utd sent Gary Neville.

Perhaps the same may apply to Sanchez or any other player we're looking at.
