Who will win the WC?

So when it comes down to the it, the one choice prediction, who will it be? This is so hard to pick, especially since I havent watched much internationals for a while now. Brazil is the obvious one. But against all odds, I am going to vote for Argentina!

Brazil. They're stacked on nearly every line. They're playing home, which means they're used to the climate, will have the overwhelming support of the fans and the refs will be biased towards them.

Agreed, I forgot to mention this in my other thread just now

teams that are used to the climate must have an advantage. Brazil has all the added advantages of host country that shouldnt be underestimated.... but still, I cant help but get the feeling sometimes, similar a bit to the 2006 WC I guess, when Brazil were heavy favourites, sometimes things can be too perfect to be true.

No idea. Favourites are Brazil, Germany and Spain, however I don't think there's an overwhelming favourite. I think all of them are beatable and I wouldn't be surprised if someone unexpected won.

I hope the reffs can handle the pressure.

This was about who you think will win, right, not about who you support.

How then did England and Uruguay get 2 votes each while Spain and France got 1 vote each?

Anyway I voted for ARGENTINA.

As these polls also indicate this world cup realistically should be won by either Argentina or Brazil. I could give an outside chance to Italy, an underrated France especially if Ribery recovers fitness and form and last of all perhaps Germany but the list ends right there. Portugal usually over-perform which means they could do better than what people expect from them but winning is a step too far. Lastly Spain's era just has to end now because if it continues beyond this point it will sort of exceed limits of human possibility.

I think Germany will win it.

I get the feeling Spain's reign will end, if they win it again it would really be amazing, and by far the most consistent and best team ever. Probably though they will go out in the SF or so, unless they find the goal scorers, like Torres finally discovers how to finish, or Villa suddenly back his best with his awesome finishing, Cesc and Costa just arent clinical enough I think...

Great to see not everyone going for Brazil and so many voting for Argentina as well, Im not confident about their defense at all, or even midfield, but if they can stay compact and Messi fires up front

A team has won two world cups in a row before. I still think Spain are at least equal favourites as anyone else

Judging by this thread Argentina are really over rated and Spain severely under rated.

Agree that Argentina is overrated, infact i wonder where all these thought of Argentina winning coming from. But Spain is no way underrated....people are rating them the way they should be....do you even really believ in Spain winning it again??

Brazil or Spain surely.

France- Semi Final at best. Their attack is not a functioning one, Ribbery does not complement Benzema. Ribbery needs a target in the box while Benzema is best suited out side the box, their attack will be as useless as in Euros and DMzema will be back again. I support them along with Spain and Portugal thos tournament but their lack of team game is apparent.

Argentina- They will get knocked out by Portugal if they meet them, if they can somehow avoid portugal then they will get spanked by the next big team they face. Cant see that team winning a world cup with lot of average players in many positions.

Germany- They could reach the finals and they will definitely feast on the smaller teams but i have doubts on their defenders. Individually none of their defenders are reliable apart from Lahm ,even he isnt that great defender.


Italy-Very high chance of winning the cup. They simply have to avoid spain on the way to final...could see Italy even defeating the Brazilians.
