Netherlands vs. Italy
Spain vs. England

France vs. Belgium
I have France taking the final over the Netherlands and Portugal beating Spain for 3rd place.
8 European teams in the quarterfinals despite the fact that no European team has ever won a World Cup in South America... alright then.

Is that combination of quarterfinals even possible?

It's possible; this is what it would (roughly) look like:

Really looking forward to it, but nervous as hell as a red next season.
Gerrard's age and injury concerns. He'll also have a short summer as he'll no doubt play every game. Suarez' training like bollocks to get into his fitness over overcoming his knee injury... argh. :S

You know there's a silver line in everything. Being in the ungodly hours (1/2 AM), it's unlikely the broadcasts will be hindered by our all to frequent power-cuts.

Don't sleep on the Dutch. Like I said their team this year is not worse than 2010 and could easily be even better.

Holland were excellent, but I'm holding my knee-jerks until I see them play Chile (and Australia, too). Spain's style is different from most / all of the others.
Anyway, enough about the Dutch now, it's England's match tonight!

Robben could be the only player on the pitch against Australia and we still wouldn't win.
They were brilliant against Spain, but it was only one game. Can't see them going past the quarters / semis.

Chile were so casual for most of the match. If Australia had more quality (or luck), they would have got some thing last night.

Gutted that Merseyland lost to Italy, but a good performance by many of our players...

Re: The World Cup Thread
Missed the England game (oh, this terrible 4 am schedule will kill me). Don't understand why Lallana didn't start and what did Rooney do all game!!!
Uruguay is pure rubbish. How can that Lugano guy be even on a WC squad (let alone captain it)! Cavani thought things will be served to him! He wasn't in any link-up play, nothing.

Re: The World Cup Thread
Lallana didn't deserve to start. The team was right but Welbeck probably could of been benched by Barkley or Wilshere. Rooney should of been playing more centrally than on the left wing.
__
Gerrard couldn't run after 70 minutes and was clutching at his groin, not exactly promising signs going into our season when he's at that age and has reoccuring injuries. Worst part is, he's still arguably our best player so that'll be a massive massive out for us. Suarez' knee will be a constant problem for us in the season too...

Well Germany are playing tonight...this camel predicting the winner has lifted my Spirit to the next Level now and cant wait for the game to start. I am in Office now, but cant concentrate and everyone is discussing about football, watching it together with friends on the streets on a huge screen, going to get drunk tonight if we beat Portugal today

Shouldn't you get drunk prior to and during the game, too?

Re: The World Cup Thread
Lugano is out of the England game (a pity, actually, England's pace would have murdered him), could it mean a start for Coates? Would be quite funny if even Uruguay fielded two Liverpool players on top of the LFC players in England shirts.

No, No, No, No, No, No.
Were doing great a bit of luck and we would of been top of the group.
