I seriously think we need to buy another forward.We are short of forwards to start the season.
Our forward line up to start the season is Pedro,Messi and Deulofeu.
Pedro is garbage,Messi is past it and coming off a World Cup and Deulofeu is still raw.And there is no one on the bench.What if one of them gets injured?La Liga could be over for us before it even begins.

Shouldn't Neymar be back for the start of the season anyway? The first game is on August 24th. That's almost 5 weeks from now. He's been injured for more than 2 weeks now. His recovery time was said to be 4 - 6 weeks. He should be back. At worst he should miss 1 or 2 games.

I wouldnt want to buy a forward because it creates a log jam later on.

Would rather see the likes of Deulofeu, Munir and Adama.

42 mil for Sanchez is a great piece of business, have to agree with it. Pedro wouldn't have brought anywhere near that much, and both of them are just as effective for Barca.

Alexis had 2 seasons to prove himself and he did prove that he wasn't good enough to win trophies.

He was great in World Cup when him and the team were giving 110% all the time. In club football that isn't possible and you have to rely on quality more. This was a perfect time to offload a back passer, when he were getting hyped over World Cup.

yea I have to say that the World Cup can really sway how people view a players worth and what they can actually do. Alexis has never been a goal threat for us on a consistently basis. If anything we all here complained how he missed SO many sitters or would pass the ball back so much. His finishing spread out over a course of a season is very, very inconsistent. And that's with Messi, Xaviesta, Neymar, Villa all feeding him lovely passes. He plays an out standing 4 game with Chile....and how everything thinks he's gonna go to Arsenal and finish top 5 in scoring in the EPL. Don't get me wrong, he will score allot, but his finishing leaves allot to be desired. I remember he once went almost the whole first half of the season without scoring more than like 1 or 2 or some thing like that. Like I just looked up that kids James stats, he pretty much averages the same amount of goals he scored at the World Cup, over an entire course of a season (like 3-4 more). Some how everyone on the planet think's he's a massive scorer now when his stats say other wise. Playing at Real Madrid though will make it easier for him to score though since defenders have to worry about so many other players

I think we should all accept there is quite a differing level of opinions on Alexis among Barca fans.

Some hate him, some are indifferent and some think he is very good.

I dont think the WC really changed anyone's opinion on him, other than a few non-Barca knee jerkers.

I am someone who likes Alexis and wasnt surprised by what he did at the WC. I wont say more about him because not everyone agrees, but only to repeat I wasnt surprised and it doesnt make me rate him any differently.

I'm going to have to go back and check my sources on this, not sure where I got this stat from.

'top scorer' sometimes means goals PLUS assists though, in German use for example.

I think his performances at the world cup and with Chile in general just show how fantastic of a footballer he is when he's not limited by the constraints of Barca and the system we play (specifically his having to play on the RW).

I hope dearly that Wenger gives him the freedom to roam around and play his game like for Chile, because he was never going to reach his potential with us.

Selling Alexis for that price, is not bad business. I dont think its "great" business like others are saying though, he was sold for a fair price. I dont think Mata, Luiz and Suarez went for a "fair price" and I dont think Di Maria or James will either. So, its not good or bad, its fine.

So apparently we had the opton to get Blind or Matheiu, bout about the same price. Blind wanted to join, and we decided to pay the 20M asking price for Matheiu...will be presented as soon as Wednesday according to reports. Also being reported that we originally wanted two defenders, and now we might just stop this transfer market with Mathieu being our last signing

well we are apparently in the search for a defender who can play in Barca B and has potential, sort of like the Halilovic case.
if that's true i'd be happy with Matheiu and a potential future player.

I think Caio is the guy. Which from what people say is nothing special

But come on. We needed a world class defender to hold us down for years to come. JUST getting Mathieu, for the cost, is not good enough. It should of been Matheiu, one other guy that would be the guy to partner with Pique and THEN another guy to be in Barca B

*bleep* Zubi buys a bunch of keeprs, midfielder, a SUPER expensive player that cant even train with us until October and then for the area we need the most help he gets JUST a 30 year old Matheiu? for 20M?! Seriously?

the more defenders we get the better, but honestly if we get just one it'd be one defender more that i didn't expect us to get.
