He mentions in earlier episodes that he was the best archer of his village.

The kid's name is Olly and he is skilled in archery. Anyone else see an eerie similarity

Absolutely stunning episode, perhaps the best of the season and one of the best ever.
First I want to commend the effort and production values the show makers put into this episode. The special effect and camera work was that of a big budget Hollywood movie. It felt like I was watching a mini LOTR movie.
The scenes with those giants had my jaws on the floor. Those mammoths, brilliant scenes.
- The leadership qualities of Jon Snow What a boss.
- Sam being a man and choosing to go out and fight.
- RIP Gren...brave af. Stood his ground ahead of that giant storming at him and his fellow soldiers and defended that gate till the end.
- Pypar horrible way to go out
-Ygritte..... It was time to go. I had a feeling she was about to pull the trigger, but good thing Olly came through with that precision shot
Biggest laugh of the episode was the cowardice of Janos Slynt.... what a p***y.
That scene when that giant shot that huge arrow
That scene when they released that sweeper on those wildlings climbing.
Fantastic episode 10/10

It was a good shot but I don't think it was right in the heart. She had time to tell Jon he still knows nothing...

Neil Marshall is a GOAT. He only had to do 7 takes for this.

When Aemon was talking about that girl who seduced him when he was young, I immediately thought: Lady Olenna

Re: Game Of Thrones - Part 4 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
One of the greatest episode in television history. This was perfection in every way. As good as the blackwater episode.
Every single scene was shot so good that you can't do anything but applause. This Show is really one of a kind and will go down as the best there ever was.
Most scenes have been discussed but I'll add as well that the scene where they were defending the inner gate, saying their vows and killing the half giant. That was absolutely powerful. I had goosebumps while watching the scene. And most of you probably did as well.
Ygritte dying was much more sadder in the books tbh. They cut off the dialogues between her and Jon which made the scene 20 times better. But this wasn't bad either even if it was cliched. Her last words were
Also I hope you all think better of Jon now. They tried hard to butcher his character since season 1 but he is better than they show. Like in the books Jon was the tactical mastermind behind the stopping of the initial attack. But meh, this was good too.
Bet Mance is going to be overjoyed at seeing him if he makes it
10/10 stuff.

One of the greatest episode in TV history. I am going to watch it again today, so proud I live in a time to be able to watch masterpiece, The difference between "nock" and "draw," was got scene, Ser Alliser Thorne.
I really like the part where Alliser was talking to Jon about maybe he was right, and explains to Jon a crucial principle of leadership.

I'm confused, why are people talking about Thorne as if he died. Didn't he survive (albeit with injuries)?

I know he was alive on screen but somebody said something during the episode that made it sound as though he was dead.
