I think they touched the basis on what's going on, if you put 2 and 2 together, it's pretty obvious that there is a divide of opinion.

One half (saf and SBC want Giggs rather than Mou)

The other half (Woodward wants to appoint Mou, doesn't want to gamble on Giggs being a disaster as his(Woodward) rep is on the line.

Power struggle, coupled with the possibility, according to numerous reports, that Giggs wants the permanent job rather than an interim role, so there is no viable option available should LVG get the sack, is a reason why LVG is still Utd manager.

That is my understanding of it, and it's one I'm believing in for now, for my own sanity

i hope the club wont appoint the obvious choices and give us a surprise like how chelsea's board is doing by appointing Conte. He is a great manager and will be an inspired decision by their board.

As for my personal choice from the ones i know i think Slaven Bilic looks like a decent enough bet. So why not build a dynasty like how Tottenham is doing with Poch instead of giving the job to some self centered megalomaniac or an amateur manager who have got zero qualifications to manage a club like ours.

Fergie backing LVG for 2 more years. Interesting... He is suggesting to stick with his original plan - LVG and Giggs taking over. But the original - original plan was with David Moyes.He did n't stick with his choice then but why now? It raises question marks on his Judgment.

On a side note Giggs ideally should have been asked to work elsewhere till LVG leaves. Guy may still do a decent job if he gets it, but you are betting on unknown.

If this guy is still our manager next season, I'm going to take a year long break from watching United. Will only check their scores online. Honestly. I just can't bare the thought of another year of this tedious man managing the team. I just can't do it.
