First week of December 2013: Everton and Newcastle record consecutive 1-0 victories at OT in space of 4 days. Their very first for decades.
Following those defeats, Man Utd go on a winning run of 6 games in all competitions, closing their gap on Liverpool to 2 points, and onto League Cup semi-finals. Red Cafe's "Race for the Title" starts heating up. It all comes crashing down after a home defeat to Timmy's Spurs on new years' day

Feb 9th 2014: Man Utd earn memorable draw at OT against bottom club Fulham. David Moyes goes wild.
Feb 21st 2014: Moyes hammers another blow to Man Utd's long-term success by handing in a 300k/week contract to 29 year old, ever declining, inconsistent Wayne Rooney. Joe Cole, junior
Later in February 2014, Following, a couple of decent good results, Man Utd go to Olympiacos, and get turned over 2-0

March 16th, 2014: Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool.
March 19th, 2014: Man Utd turn another corner after beating Olympiacos 3-0 and becoming only the second team ever to overturn such deficit.
March 25th, 2014: After beating a couple of midtable teams, optimism builds up, only to be dashed again by a local rival in front of home fans
April 9th, 2014: After building his reputation as a CL Specialist, Moyes bows out of CL following a 3-01 defeat vs. Bayern. To his credit, his side led for around 38 seconds after Evra's screamer. R300ney is the worst player on the pitch
April 20th, 2014: Moyes returns to Goodison Park, in what proved to be his final game in charge, and loses yet another important game with inept display. Rooney, stinks the place out as per usual.

Splendid work, Sepi. I doff my cap to you, sir.
Moyes' tenure at United will go down in footballing folklore....for all the wrong reasons, or right, depending on who you support.

Re: David Moyes- The memories/Legacy
God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him
and whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes "the best".
May his legacy live on for years to come

The funniest part is that if this was a Liverpool or Arsenal thread with the same flavour it would be locked immediately
Typical. More protected than Pilro when he was at Milan.

Re: David Moyes- The memories/Legacy
I just have to wonder. What does moyes do now? He'll never live this time at united down. He'll always be mocked and jeered around the world by almost everyone, non United fans included. He'll always be known for his greatest failure and it's likely that he'll never be able to do anything about it.
I really do feel bad for him now that he's gone imo... I can't image living my life and having it be defined by something I failed at.

I'm sure £4.7 million will soften the blow of his failure. Heck, I bet his friends and family are congratulating him as we speak on a job well doneVendettaRed07 wrote:II really do feel bad for him now that he's gone

I get there's the money, but still imo it must be difficult. It's like being Bill Buckner (if anyone watches baseball) I'm not sure if I'd want to be rich if it came with nuclear levels of hate, embarrassment and overall negativity world wide
