She was a typical spoilt girl, he's a *bleep* freak who will spend his life ordering random people to be flung out of the moon door

btw I didn't like the Mountain that much. He's as big as you would expect the Mountain to be. And that's the most impressive thing about him. I think he only had one line to say the whole scene but I could tell he's a shit actor.
Plus he looks 20 years younger than the Hound. And he's his older brother.
The old Mountain was way way way better.

I think the current one is good because he matches the description way better in terms of looks and he is the current WSM so technically he fits the bill perfectly

Did anyone else get a mini heart attack when The Hound was jumped from behind and bitten?

No he doesn't fit the description perfectly. Are you kidding me. For one the Mountain supposed to have just come from the battle and be scarred and battle worn. And then he's supposed to have a very scary look to him (like the first guy had. This guy just looks like a normal bodybulder that's been oiled up for a muscle flexing photoshoot.
And like I said, he's supposed to be much older. This guy looks like he's is in his 30s ffs. The Hound is his younger brother.

Well all the Mountain is, is a giant of a man who likes to kill. Doesn't really need a deep, complex emotional character plus tbh i'm not sure there's a lot of 7 foot World class actors who bodybuild on the side
Slim pickings, unless you want to use a lot of CGI effects

Actually The Mountain is far more than that. He is a brilliant war general, great warrior and a terrifying leader. The TV show just made him into an angrier Ryback.

Don't think he's a bad cast or at least I won't judge him as one right now. Of course the could or probably should have made him look a bit older and given him some scars (it's not as if that's a problem these days) but the actual problem for me was the scene itself. Doesn't happen often that I say that about a scene in GoT but that was just shit.

Well yeah, I figured the books would be different. But for the purpose of the TV Shows Mountain, he's been shown to be a ruthless big man. His intelligence has never been hinted at so what i'm saying is we don't need some Oscar winning actor to portray an angry solider. He's not going to have some deep, emotional scene. He's purely there to look intimidating and to fight.

Also, bit harsh saying the actor sucks. He had one line.
I don't think prime Johnny Depp could make "So who am I fighting?" sound like a gripping speech
His lack of age is a good shout though. Looks a good 10 years younger than his li'l bro. Although with scraggly long hair and a scarred face the hound is bound to look older than he actually is anyway

Good shout on the scene. BC touched on that too. Such a pointless scene. Giant of a man just slaughtering peasants out of nowhere. One second you see tits, the next a pointless butchering. Killed me half woody ffs (although the tits may have been from the porn that's on 24/7 in McAgger residence ) That was the most unnecessary scene in the whole series.

Re: Game Of Thrones - Part 3 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
I found this episode one of the weakest this season, The Eyrie and Oberyn/Tyrion/Bronn/Jaime was great but that aside.... so so meh.
I expect the next 3 episodes to be totally awesome!

This is the problem with reading the books before watching the show. You critique every single thing about the show. You never get to just watch the show and enjoy the storyMcAgger wrote:nichabr wrote:I think the current one is good because he matches the description way better in terms of looks and he is the current WSM so technically he fits the bill perfectly

It's a bit hard to predict what will happen, but I imagine Oberyn will finally fight The Mountain next episode, and the rest at Kings Landing depends on who wins.

What sort of garbage analysis is that Urban.
You're supposed to predict who wins the fight. Then you can predict how the result of the fight will affect the aftermath.

That has nothing to do with the books. I'd be complaining about this casting job even if I had no clue what a book was. The guy is so horribly wrong to play the Mountain it's unreal.
