Re: The Movie House - Part 4
What did you think about Under the Skin?
I watched a movie analysis by Chris Stuckmann on youtube, that same guy who reviewed Enemy. Made more sense for me after watching it and I can say that the it was a pretty decent movie for its kind (you know, that art and culture type of films)

It's well made, it has a message, it's visually stunning. But holy crap was it boring to follow, nothing interested me about the story. It can have all the meaningful metaphors it wants to. But it's the most pretentious and plotless film I have seen this decade.

And now I know what to watch next.
@Barret: That's too bad, I really enjoyed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Going to watch Dawn of the planet of the apes tonight, so just watched Rise of the planet of the apes beforehand.
Was really entertaining. Some solid ape on ape action. There was one jacked up Ape as well who clearly lifts more than many of us. Looking forward to Dawn.
7.5/10

Kobe is one of the best characters in years imo. There was so many layers in him. Usually when there's an bad character in a movie, there is the risk of it being without validation and reason. But even though Koba means are questionable, I couldn't help but feel for him. The conversations between him and Caesar were full of feels, cried at one time.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Back from Dawn of the Planet Of The Apes.
First thoughts, it was thoroughly entertaining and a very very good made film. Excellent story telling eventhough it was pretty much predictable, the civil war, the fear amongst both races, the emotions of men and apes, and the overall execution of each phase of the movie was really well done. The Visuals were stunning along with the action scenes at times.
Caesar was the heart of the movie and I agree with Freeza about Koba. Whatever action he took(can't say due to spoilers), he did it out of fear. That was the difference between him and Caesar. Caesar turned his fear into leadership while Koba turned his into hatred. It was pretty much Professor Xavier vs Magneto.
Caesar's youngest son ffs Would take him as a pet 10/10
Can't wait for 'Beginning of the Planet of the Apes now' followed by 'Start of the planet of the apes'
Overall movie rating: 8.1/10

So, does Serkis ever get at least a nod from the Academy for his performances?

This is the best chance he has ever gotten because the movie is all about Cesar but still he won't,
The real Oscar contender movies aren't out yet they all do before the award season

Such a desperate, sad, and obvious trolling attempt. I'd say it was unexpected but really...

Trolling attempt?
As far as I know the film's just out so I could hardly wind people up when nobody here has even seen the movie.
But nah i'm sure everybody in the World HAS to want to see this movie right?
