Cap 2 was amazing. Better than Avengers, slightly below TDK.

Agreed watched it last night. Winter soldier is probably one of the best super hero movies of recent times. better than Avengers, way better than Man of Steel. Way better than Amazing Spider Man. Better than all the Iron Man films. Better than both Thor films. It's a definite must watch in this genre.

It's a shame that Cap 2 will probably be overshadowed by ASM2, which looks even more incredible itself. But, still, for now, it's the best since Dark Knight IMO.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Saw Inside Llewyn Davis and liked it a lot, actually. Out of the movies I've seen recently (Dallas Buyers, Blue Jasmine, Blue/Warmest Color, Frozen) I've probably liked it the best tied with Blue is the Warmest Color. Coen brothers impress again. Shame it didn't get any recognition at the Oscars, because I think it's better than many that did get recognition there. Interesting how the Coen brothers were able to create a character that is really kind of an asshole, but you actually were able to sympathize with. The cat too
Frozen was good but no more than that imo.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
So I've got a free ticket to choose between Captain America Winter Soldier and The Lego Movie..
What do you guys think? From the trailers I feel that the Lego's humor is not as funny as they intended it to be. And Capt America looks like it takes itself too seriously. But I have to choose one by tonight

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Both are fantastic, to be honest.
LEGO Movie's humour and overall story and premise are a lot deeper and more complex than they seem at first glance.
The Winter Soldier has its moments of levity and is very clearly a comic book movie with a true bright comic ideology that shines through. In knows what type of movie it is and it embraces it, rather than being overly "dark and gritty" and edgy like The Dark Knight.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
I haven't seen Winter Soldier so I'm hardly objective here, but I really enjoyed LEGO movie. Also, regarding it's humor...I personally found it hilarious. While there was obviously a lot of humor aimed towards kids, there was quite a lot that I think a young adult or adult would find funny as well, perhaps even more than the "young, immature" humor.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
I liked Snowpiercer for the most part. It's a Korean (I think) SciFi flick with Chris Evans. It's set in a dystopian future where earth is frozen over after a failed plan to curb global warming. All the remaining human survivors live in a non stop train that travels around the world. However, the different passenger classes are divided leading to extreme inequality. I think it's being released in the US in July.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Finally got around to watching Wolf of Wall Street with some buddies last night. Everything they said it would be. Resembled more of a Brian De Palma movie than a Martin Scorcese movie at times lol.
Quite good and Leo was certainly unlucky to lose out on the Oscar after a performance like that.
dem Lude scenes
----------------------------------
Watched Dallas Buyer's Club today. On evidence, I think the director was unlucky to have missed out on a Best Director Oscar.
Thought Jennifer Garner was pretty strong in this one as well.
----------------------------------------
Just finished Gravity......amazing stuff all the way around. I think the best thing about this movie no doubt was the realism and the futility of space. There many moments that were frustrating, but then I would rethink and realize that we simply don't have the technology to quickly send rescue teams into space or pilot ships to pick up stranded astronauts. That type of realism and horror is what made this movie so good. That said, I'm not at all sure Bullock deserved an Oscar for this. She was good, but I was not blown away.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
I'll get back to that Bhends in a second.
Just finished watching Watchmen. What a horrible story lmao. Was a decent movie overall but superheroes :lol:no wonder they all flopped. Movie was baseless and hollow till the last part. They tried to make it all dark and twisted but it came off really bad because Zack Snyder knows nothing about a good story.
5/10 at best.
