Samuel Eto'o: Guardiola wanted to send me to Uzbekistan
“Guardiola has never been a great player, he was just a good player. I told him. He didnt prove anything when he arrived and he said certain things,” Eto'o blasted.
“What hurt me is that they invent things that the press relayed . They wanted to send me to Uzbekistan. I stayed at my place and I told him that he will apologize for that in the future.
“He gave the number 9 to Henry. Henry was happy. And it was a total lack of respect. I had done a lot for the club.
“Guardiola has never had the courage to say things in front of me. He passed by the players. Xavi told me they wanted me to stay but I had to talk to Pep . I say never, if you do not respect me, I do not respect you.
“He shook hands with me when I was at Inter and I played against Barça, but this was just for the cameras and TV. Behind the scenes before the match, he did not greet me."

Tito is the worst coach Barcelona had in my lifetime. Clueless from start to finish.

Re: Samuel Eto'o: Guardiola wanted to send me to Uzbekistan
When did Henry recieved the number 9?
Yaya wanted to leave. Busquet was more suited for that role, and Yaya wanted more minutes so he left. And Keita? Wtf? Keita was his favorite!!

This season does not count he has inherited a stacked side in a league where his biggest rivals are his feeder club.
He is a coward.
He was in over his head at UEFAlona too.

There's a difference between not using a player and achieving success, and giving players the cold shoulder and never acknowledging them

And there exists two sides to every story, something the Pep-haters never seem to consider.

Re: Samuel Eto'o: Guardiola wanted to send me to Uzbekistan
Let me get this right when Pep became our coach he tells him he wasn't a great player, but a good player and has't proved anything and he expected twilight love story with him? Eto'o has done a lot for our club and we are grateful to him for it, but the man does have an ego, his own national side have problems with him, as gotten into fights with Mou to at Inter, pretty much got kicked out of the Russian club.

"Guardiola always tries to convey the image of perfection. But behind closed doors he is as bad as everyone else. He acts nicely in front of you, but deep inside he might hate your guts. It is just a mask he is constantly wearing."

Quite possibly the most stupid quote you could have posted.

Why Arq? Do you know Pep in person? I've never liked Pep because of the fake aroma that he oozes. From everything that's out there from people that know him on a personal level he sounds like a huge douche, despite acting high almighty in front of the cameras.

Zlatan and Eto'o both have given their own version of their story.
As much as I like Ibra, he isn't exactly the pillar of class and given his volatile personality to which clashed with the whole Barcelona locker room, he was bound to cause problems.
Guardiola still hasn't given his account of the story.
Eto'o who is a KNOWN hypocrite and liar whether for club or Cameroon, is at no position to be giving accounts of possible fallacy especially given half of them were challenging Guardiola's decisions within Barcelona. Stones in a glass house.
Guardiola still hasn't given his account of the story.
@McAgger I don't have to know him in person to know the class that he has. Why is it that only two volatile personalities with massive ego's are the only ones with problems with him while the rest of Barcelona and the whole of Bayern Munich have yet to come across such a problem? Can only mean one thing.

Re: Samuel Eto'o: Guardiola wanted to send me to Uzbekistan
Ibra is known for saying what's really on his mind. And he's not one who is known to be a liar. So what he says, I usually take it to be true to some extent.
And the fact that Guardiola hasn't given his account of the story means that it's probably true. If it wasn't the case then surely he would've come out and defended his saint like image.

Re: Samuel Eto'o: Guardiola wanted to send me to Uzbekistan
I remember perfectly when Barcelona did the Eto'o-Ibra swap Guardiola said that it was a question of "feeling" that he wanted Eto'o out. He offered no other reason. Someone who makes a poor excuse like that is clearly hiding something. It was obviously a clash of personas, so why not come out and say it like Bielsa did with Llorente?

Half of Zlatan's anger spawns from the fact that his Barcelona career did not pan out the way he would have liked to. Like Ibra's fight vs Onyewu, only one person has given their account of what happened while the other has not.
Not professing the other account is simply taking the higher stand as Guardiola would not gain anything from re-counting his own account, especially in a frivolous situation that is left behind the past.
@Ask Barcelona fans as to how many times Eto'o thought he was the manager and attempted to sway Pep's influence on tactics or his own positional. If you continually challenge your manager's authority, you're out.
Bielsa-Llorente was completely different given the amount of respect they had for each other, only Llorente's poor timing to state his desire to leave to Juventus caused him to be surplus to an evolving Athletic.

Re: Samuel Eto'o: Guardiola wanted to send me to Uzbekistan
As much as I love Eto'o for what he has done for Barça, Arq is right. Eto'o was pretty well known to have a big ego. Just look at his hate towards Real Madrid for what happend when he was there.
