I don't know if you know spanish football history, but Barcelona has always been a winning team. Unlike Real Madrid, who are the first "Chelsea" and only became a winning team in the 50's when they started buying all the stars..

So which is the biggest reason behind Barcelona's disappointing season and inability to win a title decider at home:

a) Poor manager & tactics
b) players' decline
c) opponents gotten stronger?

Players aren't declining. When even Messi looks shit and disinterested and keeps losing the ball week after week there is something fishy. El Pais had an article recently that Tata is utilizing ancient training methods and the players are bemoaning the lack of intensity in training. Which transmits on the pitch. That rumour has been first mentioned at the beginning of the season (Tito's old staff disagreeing with Tata's staff) so I'm inclined to believe this.

More isn't even needed. The biggest culprit is the coach. I'm watching Alves attempting 30 crosses per game to Messi and Alexis for the past 2 or 3 months now. They've lost every sense of simple triangulations and keeping the ball in advanced positions.

The Copa del Rey is a Mickey Mouse cup, I take no pride in winning it.. I was only happy because we beat Barca in both finals, I couldn't care less about the actual trophy

Anyway, we are obviously not as good as before, but we are not as shit as people would have you belive. I mean, if it wasn't for that wrongly disallowed goal*, we might have won the league! Although, I am quite certain that Atletico would have just pressed and scored another goal..

*just mentioning that to show that as shit as we were, we could have been 40 min from winning the league and not to make excuses.
