Bryan should get a really long reign. Beating everyone clean. Batista, Orton, Cena, Lesnar, Cesaro etc etc. Would establish him and make him elite. Doesn't matter if it's believable or not, this is wrestling, not real fighting.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
The latest word on CM Punk is that Vince McMahon has closed the door on bringing him back at least until after WrestleMania.
He was the last guy within WWE trying to make a new deal happen and while a new attempt might be made before July, it won't be for at least another month or so.

Speaking of Vinny Mac, remember that plan to have a power struggle culminate at WrestleMania 30 in the main event between himself and Triple H/Stephanie? That could be back on the books as the post-WrestleMania big summer storyline.

That depends how successful is reign is and i don't mean in terms of in the ring....
I'm all for a long title reign if he expands his character while doing so like Edge did but if not then nah.
It may look good now, but fans are fickle and will soon boo him if they are getting bored of him.
Do we really want another Cena where he was pushed so hard that fans eventually got bored of it but it was far too late to do anything about it?

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
That's the way to create a credible top face though. Title reigns, always in the main event etc. Cena became a megastar that way. What reaction he gets doesn't matter business wise. He still makes the most money and that's all Vince cares about. So it's easily possible for them to go the same route with Bryan.
Austin/Rock were only top for a few years, if they had been top faces longer, people may have eventually got bored with them too. But yeh, if Bryan can add to his character then it will be beneficial.
Thing is Bryan got over with this cartoony one dimensional persona, so they might be reluctant to tamper with it for now. I think he needs a more distinct/louder sound effect at the start of his theme, which makes it easier for the crowd to pop. Austin had the glass shattering, Rock has the catchphrase etc.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
Yeah i know but you can't just decide to give him a run for a long time though.
Because things change on a weekly and monthly basis, that's the sort of thing they will decide on the fly.
They won't just go hey lets give him in a 8 month run, if it happens then great for him but they won't decide that before hand.
Its just not smart from a business point of view as it can all blow up in your face very quickly.... which is why when you go back to Attitude Era there was very few huge reigns.
People go on about how Austin was the dominate figure then but Attitude era was only a 4 year period and during that time he had 6 different reigns, he never really had JBL type record breaking runs.
Its not the sort of thing you can really decide upon months in advance, just got to see how it goes and how the fans respond.

Yohan Modric wrote:Thanks to Dave Meltzer, Byran Alvarez and Figure Four Online/The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we've got a glimpse into the top sellers for WWE, both at live events and via their online store, wwe.shop.com.
There aren't many surprises on the lists, and certainly not in the number one spots, where John Cena and his rainbow coalition of shirts, hats and sweatbands leads the charge.
While there aren't any numbers provided (so we can't tell how much Cena outsells the others by, or if the number two guy this year lags behind the volume the number two guy was moving last year), a strong showing by Daniel Bryan on both lists has probably been used to justify his ongoing rise up the card.
And the absence of the man right next to him on both lists is a good reason to want to solidify his standing in the eyes of the consumers.
Arena Merchandise Sales:
1. John Cena
2. Daniel Bryan
3. CM Punk
4. Batista
5. Sheamus
6. Hulk Hogan
7. Randy Orton
8. Brock Lesnar
WWEShop.com:
1. John Cena
2. CM Punk
3. Daniel Bryan
4. Hulk Hogan
5. The Shield
6. Steve Austin
7. Brock Lesnar
8. Undertaker
9. Randy Orton
A list that doestn have Rey Mystero is not credible in my books.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
AE was different though. The storylines were better, so were the characters and overall everything was much better. It meant superstars were more over. Nowadays superstars can't do as much, which means one of the ways to establish someone is to give them a long reign. I know everything changes weekly, but here WWE have one of the most over superstars ever, they're in desperate need for main eventers, which is why they should capitalise.
Punk had a long reign and everything went ok. In fact come WM, Orton will have held the main title for around 8 months and it hasn't felt too long.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
Rob Van Dam was asked on Twitter today if he would be returning soon, to which he replied, "Yup!" RVD discussed a WWE return on a recent episode of Chris Jericho's podcast, Talk Is Jericho, and said that he planned on having another run, but doesn't have any information right now on when that would be. He admitted that he would like to be back for WrestleMania and Extreme Rules, but "who knows?"

WWE apparently expects the following five wrestlers to be its biggest stars moving forward, in this exact order: 1. John Cena 2. Daniel Bryan 3. Randy Orton 4. Sheamus 5. Roman Reigns

They really shouldn't have buried Sandow. He actually had a good gimmick.
He's much better than boring midcarders like Big E and Axel.

He's better than Cesaro too, who I don't think ever has cut a proper promo.

nah not for me. Cesaro is a fantastic wrestler. Sandow's gimmick might be better though.

You can get the WWE network in the UK right now, but you need to change the dns, similar to how you change it if you want to watch the US version of Netflix etc.
