Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC
Howard Webb isn't the referee, RED.
Loving how "United will step up so they'll win" everyones talking about.
What are we going to do? Have coffee on the sidelines while we watch United dominate the game by floating crosses into the area to a striker that likes the ball at his feet?

-------------Mignolet-------------
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Flanagan
------Gerrard---Henderson------
Raheem----Suarez-----Coutinho
-------------Sturridge-------------
Lucas shouldn't be rushed. He may come in as substitute.

I'd personally start Allen ahead of Coutinho. Just feel Phil is more suited to home games

Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC
I don't know.
I'd normally play Allen over Coutinho and his (bad) recent form, but United doesn't have a midfield.
They're using Fellaini as the holding midfield ffs. Coutinho starting wouldn't be the end of the world, so long as Gerrard / Henderson can control it which won't be that much of a challenge considering Mata and Fellaini are average defensively.

Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC
-United have won eight of the last nine PL home games against Liverpool (W8 L1).
-DS15 has scored in his last 2 league games for Liverpool against United.
-RVP has scored 6 goals in his last 7 PL starts against Liverpool.
-Liverpool have scored 47 first half goals in the PL this season, one more than MUFC have in total.
-Only Everton v Liverpool (20) has seen more red cards than the North West Derby (14).
-Only one team (Arsenal) have kept a clean sheet against Liverpool in their last 16 PL away trips.
-Liverpool have been awarded more penalties than any other PL side this season (7).
-MUFC have not conceded a penalty at Old Trafford in PL since December 31, 2011 (v Blackburn Rovers).
-Six of the last 10 goals in this fixture have been scored in the 15 minute minute period just after half time. (So from 45-60)
-This game features the three players to have been involved in the most PL goals (scoring + assisting) this season: Luis Suarez 34, Daniel Sturridge 23 and Wayne Rooney 21.

Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC
Simple game, start Coutinho...they are playing home, they will be underpressure to score a goal and will try hard. We usually do much better defensively when we defend as a unit and attack like a pack of wolves and simply counter...Utd will be all over place, one of the defenders/MF will get a early yellow card because of the foul on Sterling or Cou, game done and dusted right there

Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC

btw to break the combo, it's hilarious how every week at least one of you guys keeps coming out and says that they hope Coutinho is benched for either Allen or Sterling, and yet every week it's Coutinho who starts and we keep winning.

Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC
Sepi, I want you to know that I am an avid fan of your passionate previews that have a lot of character. They certainly are better than Art Morte's previews to which inevitably end up about Paul Lambert.
As for this fixture, call me a weakling yet I see way too many confident LFC fans for this fixture as lest we forget, what actually makes this 'derby' the best match in English Football History is that regardless of form, anyone can beat on another whether by humiliation or scarped result. Same goes for the Milan derby, El Classico, Merseyside Derby etc. At our worst we have beaten United at their best in the past, there is no less saying that they cannot to us, Moyes or not. Their squad blessed with Mata, RvP and Roonay can pull something out of their hat from absolute chaos.
I am compelled to temper the (over)-confidence of our fans simply because I do not want to see your crushing disappointment if this fixture were to result outside our desired favour.
Nevertheless, we do hold the advantage whether Old Trafford or not, their air of invincibility in ugly shack of a stadium has been vanished under Moyes.
I would choose to attack them head-on from the get-go, resting on an early result to where we can control the tempo of the game in the latter stages, to where fatigued inevitably occurs.

Hell yeah. pin them sown from the word go, and keep them punching. Send in Allen & Lucas for the tired legs. I don't care about the score line, I want a display that will send chills down the spine of anyone up against us.I would choose to attack them head-on from the get-go, resting on an early result to where we can control the tempo of the game in the latter stages, to where fatigued inevitably occurs.

Re: Moyeschester United vs. Liverpool FC
Moyes team talk is inevitable...

Just 1.7% (approximately one in fifty-seven) of the crosses against Liverpool this season have resulted in a goal.

So they are likely to score 1.428 goals (considering number of crosses against Fuham) against us!
