Agree completely. WC 2006 had a classy opening ceremony.

Actually in my country the world cup has begun very badly. The telecast rights have gone to the worst network Sony. As I expected they bring substandard presenters, substandard "experts" and try to put more glamour and jokes than anything worthwhile about the game. They ruined cricket telecasts and now they had to take over this as well. For one month the world cup may be a bitter sweet experience for me because I will have to tolerate these people each and every day. Anyway I will largely rely on some websites including our forum for anything of worth. These guys I'll keep muted most of the times.  

Thank God we have Adrian Chiles.

It's a pity. The World Cup in Brazil, it should have an amazing atmosphere throughout the country.

I wonder if this will be seen as a lesson learnt. Don't give the World Cup to countries with these issues - no matter how much they love football - but stage it in places where masses of people won't at least hate it.
