Premier League Matchday 27 sees Chelsea take on Everton at Stamford Bridge, in a match both sides will be both wanting and needing full points from. Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from a dour draw at West Brom in the previous gameweek and a dreadful defeat at Manchester City as they crashed out of the FA Cup the weekend before, and will be needing all 3 points to ensure they keep pace with title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City, whom the Blues currently lead by just 1 and 2 points respectively. Everton, too, are looking to keep pace with those they seek to still be in contention with come May. The Toffees currently trail their coveted 4th spot by 8 points, and a loss on Saturday would mean a Liverpool victory over Swansea City at Anfield the next day will see them double-digits off the Holy grail of the last Champions League spot.










The reverse fixture in September ended 1-0 to the home side. Steven Naismith took advantage from some chaos at the back on Chelsea's part to put the Toffees ahead in the dying seconds of first half stoppage time, and eventually hand José Mourinho and his men their first defeat of the season.










The corresponding fixture last season on closing day of the Premier League ended magnificently for the Blues, however, in beleaguered manager Rafa Benitez's last game as Chelsea boss and saw the club sew up a 3rd place finish in the League courtesy of goals from Spanish duo Juan Mata and Fernando Torres.










Injured for the visitors are left-back Bryan Oviedo following his horrific leg break a few weeks ago, as well as peripheral pair Arouna Koné and Antolín Alcaraz.

They've played well without Lukaku over those few weeks that he was out which is unfortunate as if they were more reliant on him it wouldve made a very difficult game much easier for us
