- The new generation doesn’t know much about Northern Irishman George Best, the ones who had the pleasure of reading about him and study are fortunate.
As part of that historic Manchester United squad from the ’60s, Best was the most talented baller in the world during that period.
Pele was considered the best back then, but Best was the low-key conjurer who always left the fans with a yummy aftertaste.
In regards to nutmegs, the fans in English football from that era will tell you that Georgie was the absolute best.
There is one that is often mentioned above the many he performed, which was against Johan Cruyff himself during a Northern Ireland vs Netherlands match.
Sadly, there is no video of the moment but there are plenty of stories that describe it.

- The Brazilian star was the top player in the world during the early ‘2000s, one of his favorite moves was the nutmeg.
He performed it in many different variations and he was always the smartest man on the pitch.
During his prime at FC Barcelona, there was no player who could be considered as talented as he was.
And we even dare say that he is arguably the most talented who ever lived, it’s sad his prime only lasted for three years.
We don’t even want to imagine the type of world we would experience if Ronaldinho played at his best throughout his whole career.
3.- Diego Maradona

- There are countless tales of the wonders that Diego Maradona did throughout his whole career, the man never backed down from a chance to perform a nutmeg.
In fact, this is exactly how Diego presented himself to the world at Argentinos Juniors.
Right before coming on the pitch when he was still a teenager, the manager told him to get a nutmeg in when he got inside.
This was the very first thing he did, it happened with the first ball that he touched as a professional.
And the rest is history. There isn’t much else that we can say about Diego Maradona’s conjuring talent.

- The most recent nutmeg specialist is also from Argentina, this skill is very common in this South American country.
Messi is often revered as a genius for the things he does on the pitch every three days.
However, the fans get especially excited when he performs a nutmeg or two.
He’s already done some damage against opponents this season, but he does it too many times to keep count.
We will never forget Pep Guardiola from the stands at a Barcelona vs Manchester City Champions League match, his reaction describes what we all feel when Leo does a nutmeg.

Maradona Turn

The Maradona Turn is something every young kid practices because it is usable whilst mucking around in the park.
There aren't many opportunities to use this in a game, but it represents one of the most popular moves in the sport.
The video shows a Maradona turn executed perfectly in a high-pressure game situation.
Cruyff Turn

Every time I try this, I fall over. Standard.
It's tough to perform this without clipping the ball on your standing leg, but with practice it is another move that can be used practically in a match.
Ronaldinho Gaucho Snake

The snake or 'Elastico' is an incredibly difficult move to pull off. It's perhaps the hardest in football.
A few players may have performed the move before Ronaldinho, such as Rivelino or Zinedine Zidane, but the current Flamengo play-maker has utilised it more than anyone else.
There's no shortage of evidence, as the featured video will offer you plenty of examples. Trying this in a game is bold.
Ferenc Puskas Pullback

Ferenc Puskas is widely regarded as the best Hungarian ever to play football and he created a move called the "Pullback V" during his time on the pitch.
The move is now commonly used with ease at all levels in association football and has become a must-have asset in a player's game.
The video featured is a tribute to the Real Madrid legend, but skip to 0:40 if you only wish to see the Pullback V in use!
Robinho Pullback

This move works great in tight spaces, if you've got the balance and agility to match.
Scissor Kick

Who invented it?
The Peruvians, the Chileans, the Brazilians and the Italians all lay a claim to it.
Pele was the most famous player to use it and made the world sit up and notice the move.
It is one of the most difficult things to do in football considering you're off balance and upside down.

Jay-Jay Okocha and the Rainbow

but Jay-Jay Okocha certainly established it in competitive football.
The featured video shows Okocha performing the rainbow early on. It also shows him performing some of the other skills mentioned in this article, so it's worth a watch.

Step-over

Who invented the step-over?
I'm tempted to say Francesco Totti, but I'm not sure.
If anyone has perfected the over-use of step-overs, it would be Cristiano Ronaldo or Robinho.
The video shows how to confuse both the opponent and the spectator with quick feet.
Kerlon and the Seal Dribble

Not fully endorsed yet, but not exactly un-attempted, is the seal dribble.
Pretty much the sole reason Internazionale signed him, Kerlon was able to run for several yards whilst balancing the ball on his forehead, softly heading it to himself.
It got so frustrating that eventually people just started elbowing him in the head. Poor guy.
Juan Roman Riquelme Move
You don't see this move often. Why?
Because it's incredibly difficult to pull off and is only attempted by the most talented of players.
Juan Roman Riquelme was one of the most skilled players ever to have graced the game of football and his technically gifted set of feet dreamt this one up.
Outrageous, isn't it?
