Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Really disappointing. I never really understood the PSG move. One big club with limited playing time as a rotational role player to another- never saw the point.
He has shown the quality to play at a decent club, and hopefully he can turn his career around at one of the Spanish clubs outside of the top 3, or an upper mid table club in Europe.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Deez, it was in his head that he was a starter for a big club!!!!
Madrid was prepared to loan him to a 1st level team playing full time and that wasn't good enough for him.
Now Emery (his supporter at PSG) has basically given up on him. They aren't selling him tho, they are looking at a loan, although it seems as if the desired location is Las Palmas and they can't afford his salary so they are talking not only a loan deal but with PSG paying part of his salary!!
Sounds like he has already screwed himself!!! IMO he has never recovered from his injury and his big head doesn't help the situation.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
So the BBC writes he might be close to a loan move to Middlesbrough
ffs
from Real's wonderboy to PSG's bench to Middlesbrough
That can't be it. The kid looked so great before his ACL. Surely the injury can't have killed all of that.
Surely there is a place for him somewhere in the huge middle ground between Real/PSG and *bleep* Middlesbrough (he might know the coach back from Real of course)
Liverpool being right in the middle of that middle ground, they need a player like him, they should try to get him.
Surely there's still a top player somewhere in there.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Liverpool getting him won't do them (or him) any good imo. For him, he will still be rotated, he needs a club where he can start and grow. For Liverpool it will be one more player that is 'just' good enough, not great, not gonna do better than most of what they have.
Liverpool need quality if they wanna raise their level, certainly Jese is not what they need.

Unfortunately ACL does kill careers. Essien, Falcao, Jese just a few that come in mind... Torres and Kaka had ACL issues too

Yes, but especially at a very young age it doesn't necessarily mean irreparable consequences. Let's try to remember that Philipp Lahm had an ACL injury at age 21. Incredible to think how virtually injury free and consistent the rest of his career was.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
He was slated to be a fenomeno. He was, in fact, great for a year or two as a youngster at Madrid. Fast, quick and could do some serious "dribbling" and scored goals. He had some injuries and some of the "Pato" or hyped up youngster syndrome But, I think rap/reggaeton was his downfall. Only 24 years old and PSG, that took a chance on him has said he hasn't met expectations and will probably be sold.

I agree. Liverpool need to look for players on the cusp of becoming elite at their position.

I don't think pre-injury Jese was overhyped, at all. If he had kept up the momentum, there's no way RM would have sold him. He does have the talent, but his mobility and overall performance nosedived after he came back. I used to think that he had his peak ahead of him, but after he returned from getting his ACL torn, it looked like he was already experiencing what C. Ronaldo is going through, these days. His mobility wasn't exceptional anymore, and that restricted his overall game. I suppose you can call it a premature decline caused by injury. These things happen.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Ends up a loan to Las Palmas on last day of transfer window, apparently PSG to pay some of his wages. They must want to get rid of him badly and essentially no takers but his impoverish home team.
His downfall is just as much attributable to his swollen head as it is to his injury!

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Madrid Castilla is the new La Masia. So many overhyped players amounting to nothing in the end.
Jese - utter flop
Morata- Tier 2 player
Sarabia - no one cares
I also remember Hala hyping some jabroni named Joselul or something
Only Carvajal turned out to be legit, somewhat.
Wont surprise me to see Asensio play for Girona in a couple of years too.

Sarabia just made a joke of Man U
Carvajal is a fraud, but not in big games for some reason and excellent attacker.
Asensio? Boy that boy is bright. As long as he keeps his head level headed he will be Madrid's best supersub of all time
So TLDR: Castilla > La Fraudsia

I doubt anyone could name a single Juventus youth product not named Benchisio.

Benchisio was genuinely struggling to think who that was for a good 10 seconds, sounds like it could be an authentic Italian name tbh

What does this even mean? because Juve has no proper youth teams Madrid's has to be good? carry on with the Jese hype I guess
Tbf Marchisio is our best, but I think the top scorer in the league might also be our youth product.
There are no B teams in Serie A so every talented player we've had gets loaned out or sold to co-ownerships (before) and buy backs (now).

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Our youth players are legit, don't lump us together with those frauds from LaMasia
Sarabia was part of the team that knocked out United, getting a fine assist. Callejon is the best attacker in Serie Z after ElPipa. Parejo>>>>Marchisio, Rodrigo>>>>any Juve attacker not named Pipita etc etc. Just because Jese went into music instead of focusing on his football does not mean Castilla is a fraud

The problem is that you hardly produce any noteworthy " talented " players. B team or not.
Madrid' youth set-up is one of the best in the world and could only be labeled underwhelming if you're comparing it to something like Ajax in the 70's and 90's or Barça in the late 2000s. The team has produced a huge number of players that are currently playing high-level football: Morata, Borja Valero, Carvajal, Parejo, Callejón, Juan Mata, Juanfran, Lucas Vazquez, Marcos Alonso, Nacho, Sarabia...
Just with Borja and Callejon, Madrid has more legit former youth players in Serie A than Juve.

Yes, Borja and Callejon >>>> Marchisio and Immobile in Serie A
We even produced maybe the biggest Milan legend in recent years.

Immobile came to Juve at age 18 and spent one year with your Primavera that's not what I call a youth product ...Do you know how many of those Madrid has?

Re: Jesé Rodríguez
Its how we operate, because there are no B teams. Its too hard to make the jump from playing in primavera squads to Juventus so everyone that's worth anything gets loaned out. Like we just did with Kean this season. Like we did with Giovinco, Marchisio, Immobile, Criscito, etc. Its pointless to follow our primavera, we just follow the loaness at Juve.
Which is off topic, why bring up the lack of good Juve youth teams to defend Jese?

You and S didn't just dismiss Jese, you also questioned the overall quality of Madrid' youth products.
It's only natural for people to bring up some of Castilla's elite players, and also remind you of how worthless your own youth products are.
